I'm sure you can find 150 million dollar games that look just as good or a bit better, but Capcom isn't a 30 billion dollar company and yet they are still turning out visuals this damn stunning. Just, wow.
Let's not get carried away. UE4 is a marvel too, as evidenced by FFVIIR and many others.

Frostbite is garbage though.
Honestly, i don't think it looks that good outside of the photorealistic looking characters, and personally i don't even like that kind of art direction anyway.
Monster Hunter is made at Capcom Dev 2, while the RE Engine is currently only being utilized by Capcom Dev 1. Likewise, the RE Engine can be rather limiting regarding costumes, which could pose a problem for games with many types of costumes or armor types like Monster Hunter.Monster hunter no on the re engine right? Wonder if they switch the next one to it
Well UE4 does too, Look at FF7R. But REngine looks so good in REmake2 and DMC5, I was in awe. REmake2 is one of the best looking games this gen.Keep in mind that all this is running at or targeting 60 fps.
What else looks this good considering?

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhReminder that the RE does not stand for Resident Evil. It stands for Reach for the moon.
I mean it runs in VR on a base ps4 so...
Tbf RE7 is very very self contained, i thought some of the textures looked high quality but others a little off constantly at least on consoles.Keep in mind that all this is running at or targeting 60 fps.

Can you imagine an RE Engine game with ray tracing? Good lord.
Logical next step imo, get rid of the horrible ssr.Can you imagine an RE Engine game with ray tracing? Good lord.
Monster Hunter World looks and runs great still on my base PS4 and that's Mt Framework still.
