So what's the online stuff in this? daily quests? Probably getting this eventually and just wondering how the online functions.
The only online stuff I've found is the ability to avenge random people (as in real people) by killing the mob which killed them.So what's the online stuff in this? daily quests? Probably getting this eventually and just wondering how the online functions.
Yeah, there are daily quests you can do that give you a random weapon or outfit. There's also some sort of system that tracks where and how players die, and lets you "avenge" them by killing their killers to get XP.So what's the online stuff in this? daily quests? Probably getting this eventually and just wondering how the online functions.
Played about 5 hours now.
Hands down my favorite AC game. The world building is unprecedented, the graphics stunning.
They finally fixed movement. My biggest gripe in AC games was running and constantly grabbing onto traversal primitives. It was like trying to run down a hallway coated in crazy glue. I don't think I've had a single instance of grabbing something I didn't want to.
Removal of sprint also works very well. Why do we need to hold a button or trigger to run in anything really. If you want to walk, just push less on the stick.
Combat is pretty fun, which is saying a lot because it was never fun in any previous installment. I feel like I'm in control, and it feels like you are actually playing the game instead of just tapping buttons and hoping you tapped at the right time.
Finally, it has the best stealth in the series as well. You can finally escape hairy situations, hide, then re-engage pretty reliably. You no longer need to find a trash can to hide in to not suffer an overwhelming mob of angry guards chopping you up.
It's really good. Not only the best AC game to date, but a damn fine game in it's own right.
I just really wish it had an encyclopedia like all the previous games.
If I think AC Unity is really bad, and Syndicate is mediocre....
How is this compared to those?
I played a little tonight and I'm digging it so far. Only gripe is that it seems to be terribly optimized on the PS4 Pro. I'm getting some glaring fps dips here and there, still, I'm looking forward to playing more.
Just get a bit further into it. I felt the exact same until something clicked. It definitely has a bad first impression.Played it for a while but not so positive, maybe its the combat or the main character.. cant really explain.
Graphic wise the game is beautiful.
My game crashed at the map as well.Oddly enough, I've noticed very few dips - one noticeable one in the first cutscene - but I've had two crashes. The first one happened when I was trying to show my husband just how huge the map was. The second time I was running around the desert and the cool effect that I thought was some sort of super mirage was actually the game crashing.
Anybody experiencing crashing on the PS4 Pro?
Had the game crash on me twice in the span of an hour. Thankfully I've just been exploring and auto-save is pretty quick at picking up my progress, but it was annoying as hell.
The intro up until the actual inciting incident is awful. I have no idea why they decided to start it in media res like that instead of just starting with the whole scene that plays after the first target assassination. It doesn't help that the intro starts off with 1. a terribly compressed video file 2. a major scene and fight with no context and 3. a bunch of really ugly, jarring pop-in and stuff that so far hasn't appeared again since. It feels like all that stuff was slapped together at the last minute or something. It looks sloppy in a way the rest of the game hasn't so far.
I've only had time to play 30-45 minutes of the game so far and I have no clue whats going on or why I'm doing anything. Please tell me the game gives me context and motivation soon. The intro up until the actual inciting incident is awful. Once I got over that hump, I started to really enjoy it. Bayek is an awesome character and the game is a lot of fun to play. The soundtrack is already up there with my favorites as well, the new composer is great. My favorite thing to do in AC games is just explore and soak in the time period, and this feels like it's going to be pretty special for that.
Yeah you should get the background on what's happening here soonI've only had time to play 30-45 minutes of the game so far and I have no clue whats going on or why I'm doing anything. Please tell me the game gives me context and motivation soon.

Not sure about Uplay items, but you can pay Blacksmiths to upgrade your items to your current level. So things with notable stats might be worth holding onto, especially if it's a weapon type you like to play with. I dismantle most blues but hold onto purples in case I get some bad RNG and don't get items types I want.So should I dismantle everything or sell it? Still not sure what that does.
The uPlay items were really powerful at first being lower level.
Played a couple hours today. Really enjoying what I'm seeing so far. I'm getting some serious Witcher vibes roaming the open world. Also, I had to change to the alternate control scheme. Feels WAY more natural.
At work so apologies if I get something wrong but (on PS4) it makes light attack the Square, heavy attack Triangle, dodge is Circle. The bow is L2 to aim and R2 to fire. Climbing/Parkour is R2 when running. R1 is climb down/stealth.
