AsAms are so cool and my partner agrees.

Anyway, tomorrow is goodbye to Chicago. Its been amazing. Champagne/Urbana was beautiful and it was great to meet someone I've only been talking to for so long.

Besides the first extremely racist bitch either of us have met in our lives, US continues to be a fun to visit.

Next is SOCAL next year.

It would be near November time if the festival we are especting gets announced as such.

In search of a new wok. Need a flat bottom because my stove is glass flat cooktop. Recommendations? Carbon steel?

Get something with a thick heat spreader on the bottom, preferably copper. That'll ensure good contact since you're cooking on a flat top, and will last years without warping.

Reddit Users Fund AMWF Porn to Trigger White Supremacists on 4chan.

NSFW

https://nextshark.com/reddit-crowdfunded-amwf-porn-trigger-white-supremacists-4chan-worked/

I mean, it is funny that it's working, but the idea is also a little cringy to me.

Yeah that's super cringy. There's already whole AMWF genre though.

Personally I'd like to see more non Japanese AMAF, because all the Asian American female stars are always only with non Asian guys due to the severe lack of them.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/su...omed-female-clerks-kavanaugh-enormous-n911571

According to reports in The Guardian, the Huffington Post and Above the Law, Amy Chua, a professor at the law school, would advise students on their physical appearance if they wanted to seek a clerkship for Kavanaugh. Specifically, Chua would help potential applicants to have a "model-like" appearance.

Chua, who is perhaps best known for being the author of a 2011 book "Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother," wrote a July op-ed for The Wall Street Journal titled "Kavanaugh Is a Mentor To Women."

In it, she wrote that she'd helped place 10 Yale Law School students — eight of them women — as clerks with Kavanaugh, including her own daughter, whose clerkship had been set to begin in August. "I can't think of a better judge for my own daughter's clerkship," she wrote.

Lol she's a horrible person. I nominate her as one of the first to go in the racial draft

papermoon - I think we've lost the interest of the rest of Reset so I didn't want to bump that thread anymore, but I wanted to say that I really, really appreciate the thoughtfulness of your response. I don't disagree with what you're saying. That's all!

Nah not games. I'm working as a contractor right now
Ah, nice! I don't know what non-game QA is really like, but I imagine it's better.

If I may shift the topic of our ERA complaints for a moment, I'm really getting annoyed by the latest DMC5 topic (about how you can use real money to buy red orbs). Like, it's just post after post complaining about MTX. But, like, we waited over a decade for this game probably because its predecessor didn't hit its rev target. So, do we want more games like this or not?

It's even more irksome when juxtaposed with threads that complain about how game industry workers should be paid more. Like, where is this money going to come from?

Non-game QA is more or less the same. Instead of a level, I can have a webpage, and I I might have some test cases to go through on different browsers, or on different devices to make sure everything works the way the documentation says it should.

And people will never be okay with microtransaction options because no one wants to pay for stuff inside of something you already bought and because some devs try to direct you toward using them by making the game borderline unplayable without them

Are you black book testing or white/grey?

If you want to pursue QA as a career, I highly recommend getting some ISTQB certs.

Black box is like functional testing. You approach the product as a user would but have no visibility regarding how it works (it's a black box). The whiter the box gets, the more code you get to see.

ISTQB is an international organization for software QA, and it has a bunch of certs that let you show people you know your shit (the real value of certs is that they make you look good), and it's probably the gold standard for QA because it's globally recognized. The info is good, too.

Speaking of QA Sept, do you know of any QA hardware certs? I know of a bunch for products themselves, but nothing employee based...

Certs would help.

I got confused because you said black book

But yeah it's black box but I know enough about coding that I can probably understand what's going on in the background. I leave that up to the devs though

Just make sure you write your bug reports up well so that the dev doesn't necessarily have to track you down to figure out what you mean.

It's kind of a pain when I have to go do that, but then I again I usually develop things that require specific hardware setups

If the decision to sell orbs as microtransactions doesn't affect how often players can obtain them in-game, nor how difficult it is to obtain upgrades without having to purchase them, then I don't really see a problem. Just let people pay for them if they're too lazy to collect them in-game.

But when you pay $60 for a game and then find the game is designed around getting you to spend more to get upgrades, rather than just offering that option for the lazy, yeah I think that is kinda questionable.

DMC4SE had this, they're kinda like cheats and tbh for me I want the ability to skip grinding. I rarely have time for games but I'll probably use a cheat engine anyway

So I've decided to stop seeing that Malaysian girl. We've stopped texting for a few days already.

After the second date, I just...really wasn't feeling it? She's a nice girl and all but honestly she just bored the hell out of me :/

I'm really into pop culture stuff like video games and movies and she knows like none of that. She doesn't even watch Netflix or that many k dramas so I really don't know what to talk to her about besides like "so how's life been" and work stuff.

I guess it's back to tinder/bumble/CMB/whatever the fuck lol

I decided to watch a K-drama. I rarely do. Last one I watched was Gourmet.

I started watching Descendants of the Sun.

Oh wow. I'm going to have to set aside a lot of disbelief for this one.

We were buying a car the other day and when it came time to fill out the paperwork, the finance guy started pushing the extended warranty on us.

I stubbornly refused but my wife was wavering. I tried to convince her by whispering some words to her in Chinese, then asked for some time alone to think about it.

Picking up on our race and language, the guy left the room, only to have one of his coworkers come in. She was Asian and immediately started pushing the warranty to us in Chinese.

Ironically, this blatant stereotyping convinced my wife that the warranty was a bad move and we agreed to not get it.

Is the stereotype here that neither of you could understand warranty policy in English.. After they explained it to you in English the first time?
