Yeah Michael Cera and Will Arnett got hit with the age stick pretty hard these last 5 years.
Wow.Michael Cera is now the same age as Portia De Rossi during season 1. He's also only 4 years younger than Jason Bateman during the first season.
Fuck. I don't think I can watch this. AD Seasons 1-3 is my favorite comedy series of all time. I fucking adore it. Season 4 was a massive disappointment, with a relatively slow pace and jokes being stretched out for too long. The remix didn't help much, and only showed that the writing just wasn't as good as the first three seasons anyway. Oh, and the new characters were irritating.
I was really hoping for a return to form for season 5. Sounds like my issues remain and I'm kind of too scared to even give it a shot.
But man, having so little Lindsay really hurts in a way I wasn't prepared for. :( It even retroactively redeems much of S4 by contrast.
Fuck you, 2015.Yeah Michael Cera and Will Arnett got hit with the age stick pretty hard these last 5 years.
That said, the Spanish "Mr. F" got probably the biggest laugh from me so far.

Agree that E5 is the real start of the season.
DeRossi leaving really wrecked the planned storylines.
The remix for sure, i like the original but the new version is an improvement in almost every way (it can be a little recap heavy).I don't know if I watched season 4. Should I watch the original or this recut version?
She retired from acting, she was convinced to come back by Mitch Hurwitz but its thought she was only available later in production, she did make a joke saying she may come back for season 6 if they ask, but she may have not been serious. Shes started her own business (http://www.generalpublic.art/) and has dedicated a large portion of her time to opening a wildlife preserve with her wife.
Having finished the season I'm confused about the timeline. So obviously the original three seasons happened in real time (2003-2006) and then season 4 happens over the course of the next six years, culminating on Cinco de Cuatro 2012. Season 5 apparently happens in 2015 as there are several specific references to this year like the Trump stuff. So there's a three year time jump between seasons 4 and 5 that, as far as I can tell, is largely unaddressed in the story? For example Gob and Tony Wonder have their night together and then spend the next three years avoiding each other? Lucille Austero disappeared three years ago and nobody's found her yet? Lucille Austero and Lindsay are running for office in 2012 and the election still hasn't happened three years later? I must be missing something.
Is this not out on Japanese Netflix? It still only shows up to Season 4... :(
Either Trump is actually running for President in 2012 in this universe or S4 moved from 2012 to 2015.
