I know people aren't going to play big games on a watch but how powerful are these things?
What can it run? lol

I'm pretty sure as long as you get the equivalent size you should be able to keep using the same straps. Unless the Series 0 uses a totally different size for its straps or something.Man, I'm astonished they let you open links on this thing. Looking like I will finally update from series0 launch model. I'm very bummed though, I've worn the brown modern buckle since it came out and they no longer offer it. I really want to get my hands on a new one. They were listing it still on their site before the new models came out.

Also, why is it called Series 0? Why did they decide to call the first revision the Series 1 instead or Series 2?
My $10 watch from Amazon has always on time. Suck it Apple.
Interesting. They could have easily come up with another name though. Like Series 2B or call the one with GPS the Series 2G or whatever. HahaThey called the first revision Series 2, but they released a Series2 without GPS on the same day and named it Series 1.
Just turn your wrist 20 degrees, the watch is pretty good about knowing when to wake lol.
44mm according to him.Do we know what size he's wearing here? He seems to have pretty slim wrists (similar to mine) so I'm curious if that's the 40 or 44mm.
Bummer. My Watch arrives today from Best Buy, but my wife's slowly morphed from "arriving on September 21" to "shipping on September 21" to "we'll let you know when it ships." :(
Nike and Hermes both come with faces specific to them. outside of that the rest of watchOS is identical to every other watch.question about the nike version. it is OS5 with additional nike faces or does the nike faces replaces the ones that come with OS5?
follow up, do i get all the functionality on a nike watch vs apple watch?
"OMG it only gets 18 hours of battery!?!?"
"How do that not have always-on yet!?!"
you see the problem here, right?
on top of that I think there is potential blowback to apple for having always-on when it comes to complications. right now the complications only run/execute when you wake the watch. having "always-on" would mean the complication(s) would be always running to update visually.
for an actual always on, they'd need a minimal face and disallow complications on it (which they already do on some faces). I'm not saying it's impossible.. but it would probably not be what people expect.. for it to not be disastrous PR.. I feel it would really need to be limited to a specific "always-on" face.
I mean yeah... but in the case of portrait mode, it was in 10.1 beta 1.Man it is quite lame the ECG is not available on launch and is "coming on a later date". Apple needs to stop hyping features they can't ship on time, this happened with portrait mode on phones and a ton of other things.
Other than that the watch is amazing due to bigger screen and it is very snappy to use, I am quite loving it coming from my series 3.

nice... really should have gone to an apple store to try them on first. I've had the 42mm since launch.. was wondering with the larger screen space if it was worth going down to the 40mm.Walked out of the Apple Store with the Series 4! Ended up going with the Gold Stainless Steel at 40mm. It's so much faster than my Series 0, it's amazing.

my guess is ECG will be in a 5.1 beta at some point.
as for "they shouldn't hype it".. I mean it is a MASSIVE selling point of the device. Not hyping it results in there not being a massive upgrade between 3 and 4 aside from the screen. I'd argue the ECG (and fall detection, and a-fib) are bigger selling points than the screen.
Man. Best Buy said it'd be available to pick up today and when I went in they didn't have it yet. Ugh. Hopefully it arrives ASAP.

I called them earlier and they think that Apple just shipped them cellular models, which is really frustrating. I may have to wait another week. Not too big a deal, but still. Ugh.Yeah, I canceled my Apple order since they had a mid-October estimate and ordered one at Best Buy for in-store pickup today. I still don't have a confirmation that I can go in yet and there's no indication how long it will take.

Did you get the Milanese loop? Are you a guy? If so, how does it look? I pulled trigger on SS Gold and I'm worried it's a bit too flashy but it looked soooo fucking dope in all the videos I saw. I didn't order until yesterday so not getting it for a month probably but would like some feedback on how it looks, I'll mainly be wearing it w/ Navy suits.
The addition of serious health features like ECG and fall detection further lay the groundwork for a what the device — and category — will become, going forward.
Contradictory to how you're putting it sure. I expect more from Apple and their designers/devs, sorry but not sorry. I expect form options I like and the functionality to react to that form. Why again is this so damn hard?
Series 4 44mm on small wrists is funny. Apple Watch going to replace the iPhone SE in size.
It's all about proportions really. I was concerned about the size of the 44mm after seeing some of the early comparison images that people were posting online from the Apple event where it looked giant, as some of the straps I am interested in only seem to be available for the larger watch.I really don't get why people want some giant watch on their tiny wrist. It just looks... tacky. Where did this style choice originate from? I want someone to blame for this.
