It's much, much more complicated than just racismIt's one thing coming to terms with the disbelief that a fucking joke like Trump won a presidential election, but I still can't believe that HE is the politician that like a third of this country has turned into their god damn idol.
Like, ok, maybe you're a die-hard Republican or a sort of "single issue" type of conservative, and you hold your nose to vote for Trump because you're still voting in a Republican, but these people who become Trump FANS have got to have like zero critical thinking or self awareness, right? Or, I guess some (most? all?) of them are super racist?
Surprised it hasn't happened yet to be honestTime frame on when this chud staging a fake PR stunt by spray painting his store with "Trump sucks, Liberals rule!!"?

*Shivers* I sadly know people that would probably buy one in a heartbeat. Sad people.Everybody is getting in on the grift. It's amazing.
My idea is trump body pillows. It would basically mirror that one pic where he is playing tennis. you know the one wear he is totally not wearing diapers.
"Honestly, I'm not a political person, I don't go either way and I don't really follow it," is what Lambert said the man told him, "but if someone's going to tell me I can't do something in this country that we live in, then I'm going to do it."
I could see something like this in Maine, but MA? That's surprising. Though the western half is rural.
It's well beyond adoration. It comes across almost like a cult.People actually adoring political figures is bizarre and worrying. No wonder the US is as divided as it is - people see it as my guy lost and your guy won, so it becomes this very personal thing.
People in positions of state - all the way up to the president - should see you as their bosses, not the other way around.
Yeah, it does. Watching from across the pond I can't help but think of a line from a blogger who, reviewing Ireland's political leaders, made the following astute remark -It's well beyond adoration. It comes across almost like a cult.
Until recently, it was the same here in the UK (or in Scotland at the very least). But now we've fallen prey to the same bullshit of idolising politicians.Yeah, it does. Watching from across the pond I can't help but think of a line from a blogger who, reviewing Ireland's political leaders, made the following astute remark -
We Irish tend to view our politicians with the mixture of pity, loathing and disgust normally reserved for the kind of people who have to go door to door whenever they move to a new neighbourhood
I think the US would greatly benefit from doing the same.
New dispensaries seem to be popping up/being announced every few month. How is that your example of an exception?Boston and Cambridge != MA. Metro Boston for the most part is liberal, however that comes with some exceptions. People are liberal until there's a policy that impacts them (cannabis dispensaries for example) then it's NIMBY to the rescue.
The grift is so real. I was in the LA airport last week and saw these socks in a tourist goods shop. Down the isle, a pair of Japanese tourists were comparing FBI hoodies.
The worst (most obvious) part is the socks are all made in China, so it's like no matter which side you're on, you're getting mega grifted. But whatever
It's interesting how trump has become this brand. like wearing a trump t shirt is 100% a personality signifier for people, the way a band t shirt used to be.
This.Friendly reminder that most of the US is pretty purple even if the state usually votes blue or red.
Oh damn I live right by Peabody. Where you from? I'm from Salem originally but live in Rockport atm.

Clinton and person we all forgot: 4033
Fuckhead and creepy puritan: 4059
edit: Obama won both times though.
Very cool. Tbh I hate it in the Summer though. I live right smack in the middle of downtown and I can barely breathe all season due to the heat and overwhelming lots of tourists every single day. Parking just sucks, too.My family has a summer home in rockport we spend a few weeks there every summer. Such a chill place.
I love it there even more so now with legal weed.
always wanted to spend some time there in the winter.
