Super stoked the oneplus 6t is officially going to be on TMobile. Considering cancelling my note 9 preorder.
One Plus has been increasing in price almost every year. I wouldn't be surprised if they're over $600 on T-Mobile or maybe even higher since people will now be able to finance the phone. Higher price and carrier bloatware will make the One Plus less attractive so let's hope they don't go this route.
What about Kotlin do you find lacking? IntelliJ/Android Studio > Xcode.Man Java blows.
Dear Google,
Ditch Java, and no Kotlin isn't the answer since it's uses the JVM. Also I wouldn't mind if you ditched Intelli J too. Give us something like C# or Swift. K thnx
Sincerely,

Well, yeah, and with it all the backwards compatibility. Though really, what about the JVM (ART) is making your development process worse? If anything, its the early decisions of the Android SDK that are the issue, not the language used. It's still tied to JVM. Kotlin strictly as a language is fine, but it's still hard tied to all the legacy Java stuff in Android land. Currently there really isn't a way around it honestly.
Edit: It's worth noting Fuchsia dropped all of the Java shit like a rock and never looked back.
I mean I hate Java in and of itself for application development outside of Android. So it's definitely Java and the JDK and all of Oracle's bullshit that I dislike. Lol
It usually goes like this. Fire up intelli j, netbeans, eclipze insert ide here, make sure all my Java shit is up to date. Start making classes. Then go why can't I just use C# or insert language here again?
I hate C+ so much, java is easier to work with for me. But it's so bloated.
That's oneplus in a nutshell.Man don't make me regret jumping on the 6 when there's something better right around the corner!
I work primarily in C#, Xamarin Android/iOS has been *mostly* great.I mean I hate Java in and of itself for application development outside of Android. So it's definitely Java and the JDK and all of Oracle's bullshit that I dislike. Lol

Have you tried Google News? It's pretty great, and no ads.Is there any app for Android that's similar to Apple News? Nicely formatted news covering customisable topics, preferably with as few ads as possible?
I have no problem paying a one-time IAP or even a subscription if it's reasonably priced to remove ads, but the apps I've found so far are free with no way to remove the ads.
I guess I could achieve this myself with an RSS reader and some work, but I like the approach of Apple News as sometimes you get articles from sites you didn't know about before and find a new source to check in the future.
Seems about even with Oreo performance-wise, maybe ever so slightly slower. But my battery performance has improved considerably. The smart "AI" handling of background functions seems to be working because my phone is lasting about 15-20% longer than it used to.How is Android 9 running on OG Pixel?
My phone is screaming at me
Thank you, that's exactly what I was looking for - I'd assumed Newsstand had shut down, didn't realise it was a new app - so far it's pretty great!
What the hell is going on with dark mode for messages? Some have it, some don't...
Why is dark mode such a problem for Google? I'm still waiting for the official YouTube to kick in.

Trying out kiwi browser. Will give it a week and see if I like.
I like it, but atm I still feel like Samsung Browser is king. It performs better and it's faster to me so far. But then again, it hasn't even been a single day so I'll continue using it.12 hours in and I don't think I'm going back...
It's the real deal for me.
