Analogue isn't making their own Sega CD adapter so I wouldn't be surprised if we get a Sega CD core from Smoke Monster at some point
Lightgun games (in general) need a CRT to work.
Hopefully they can find a way to do it with a Sega CD attached, rather than trying to make the SG do it all. I'd love to not have to worry about the laser or some other part of the drive crapping out on me.I don't know if it would be feasible to emulate the SegaCD to play ISOs off an SD card like some of you are hoping for.
The SegaCD has a lot of extra hardware in it, and while I'm sure by itself none of that is too complicated, I assume that resources on the FPGA are limited, and I have no idea if it could pull off the Genesis CPU and the SegaCD CPU at the same time. Similar to how it can't do the 32X CPU at the same time currently.
Actually I wouldn't be surprised if they made a separate Sega CD clone one year later, why is it obvious they won't?
Smoke Monster is a retro focussed / hardware youtube and ex rom pirate, he has absolutely no part in or the skill set to develop fpga cores.
FWIW I similarly messed up with my super nt order and despite their FAQ saying no cancellations they still did it for me. So once the site is no longer on fire might be worth reaching out if you decide you want to cancel and re-order.I ordered the USA model by mistake; was planning to go JP. But the more I think about it, the more okay I am with this. I only ever had a US model Genesis in the first place.
FWIW, I wasn't and still am not having luck on my wifi. I switched to LTE on my phone and got in right away.
do they charge when they ship or out the gate? i'm kinda broke cuz of halloween and an upcoming trip.
I'm at home on my normal internet connexion.FWIW, I wasn't and still am not having luck on my wifi. I switched to LTE on my phone and got in right away.

I think you know what I'm saying. Smoke Monster has been used as the go between for the Super Nt "jailbreaking" stuff and I think that'll continue with this system.

YesThis is wesome. As someone who has never bought a analogue-machine before, can it play PAL, NTSC-jp and NTSC-us?
Oh nice!
I think the site replication is just on fire in general. Like why wifi would fail and LTE would work is beyond my understanding of network engineering. It isn't even slow over LTE, the site is incredibly responsive. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Using a VPN with a US IP I was able to load the website
Are they really filtering out international buyers? If yes that's so lame
Oh nice!
I can buy the 60hz ntsc instead of my original PAL ones :)
Possible, it's not working on wifi or LTE here.Using a VPN with a US IP I was able to load the website

I pre-ordered one, and I'm in Central Europe.Using a VPN with a US IP I was able to load the website

It was $35 US shipping for the Super Nt during the first wave. :(I'm trying to get controllers to load so that I can save on shipping
50$ Shipping to Canada lololol
Controllers are sold via Amazon. The link on their store is just a redirect to Amazon's listing US listingI can't load the controllers page. I need 2 if only to use them on this and my X'eye.

Not sure about other countries.
$50 to the uk too. Analogue shipping has always felt rather scammy

Isn't that what the MISTer is?Second: I would love to see some open source fpga emulation going on but I know it's an insane amount of work so they deserve all the money.
