I went ahead and ordered this. Looks different enough and has just enough good word of mouth.

Knowing me I probably won't really get into it right away anyway...unless it somehow is Deck Verified/Playable....

Despite its rough edges, Aliens: Dark Descent has my thumbs up as the sleeper hit of 2023. It's an addictive, unabashed love letter to one of the greatest action films of all time. Not only does it do the IP justice, it splices in some great XCOM DNA and cool narrative twists. The result is the most potent hybrid since the pred-alien.

I took it off my Gamefly queue in favor of FF16. Maybe after I'm done playing that I'll look into getting it again once the issues have been ironed out.

Mentioning bugs/tech issues, and having it affect the score needs to be standard. Understandably, some issues shouldn't massively affect the score, but at least they're mentioned.

Whereas, I cannot bother with a reviewer that glosses over/ignores issues, some being major, then proceeds to give the game a 90+ or some shit.

Append the review at the start with a quick update when a patch comes out. Say it fixed the initial release issues, the frame rates, the bugs, etc. Doesn't need a massive re-review unless it's some major dlc or whatever.

Pre ordered on PS5 as it looked fantastic, but now I'm thinking holding off playing for a few days due to bugs.

Reviews much better than I expected 🎉! Technical issues that could be ironed out with a patch here and there hopefully and it seems like we have a great Aliens game in our hands.

It was right when Sony was trying to take the rights back to Spider-Man. Disney and Sony kept pushing for a new deal but it seemed Sony wasn't listening. I wanna say back in 2018-19? This website kept coming on my feed on Twitter with "Inside information" and click bait articles about the story that was never true or didn't happen. I apologize, didn't mean to offend. That 3 out of 10 error threw me back in a time loop about the articles lol

No offense taken at all. Yeah, so, before we were acquired, our site owner/editor-in-chief played very fast and loose when it came to editorial responsibilities and journalistic standards.

That being said, the team (under our new site ownership) has made amazing strides to ensure we aren't reporting utter nonsense/rumors as truth. It's been a complete 180.

Oooh this sounds like it has huge potential especially after a patch. I'm keeping my eye on it. The price is attractive too.
