Man, this hits hard…

Dragon ball, DBZ, chrono trigger, dragon quest…These shows and games helped shape my childhood and created a love for manga and anime that is still strong today. I'll forever be grateful for helping me cope with my childhood.

RIP legend.

This is devastating news. A true, unquestionable legend. I hope he knew how wide his reach was.

I was not that much into his work as others, but a lot of my friends were deeply inspired by Toriyama's work, with Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, and of course, Dragon Ball, all having a deep influence on a lot of them. My condolences to his family, and to all those that were inspired by him, know that the best legacy he can have is seeing his influence continue strongly in both the manga, anime, and videogame industries.

Some incredibly memorable characters created by Mr. Toriyama. Chrono Trigger would not be one of my favorite stories if it wasn't for his wonderful work.

May he rest in peace and his memory live on forever.

:(

Thank you for making my childhood what it was. He is literally the reason I got into art, such an inspiration.

Oh my god. RIP. A legend is gone, Dragon Ball is a inspiration to every shonen mangaka. And Dragon Quest is the base for every JRPG. His work will be remember for a long time (probably while humanity exist).

And Dragon Quest series lost another pivot creational member.

Oh my god..

I always joked about the lack of variety in his designs but he was one of the truly iconic ones. RIP.

I grew up with DBZ but didn't fully appreciate his work until like this past year when I finally played Chrono Trigger, older Dragon Quest games, and watched the original Dragon Ball.

Now he's just gone… damn, rest in peace.

RIP, thoughts go out to his friends and family. Akira Toriyama left a legacy behind that impacted multiple generations of children and has left a massive mark on the medium, he may be gone, but his work will be with us for a long time.

It's so rare that a person is both so significant in OT and Gaming forum. RIP, I still can't process this.

I said it in the etcetera thread, but the amount of lives he has changed with his works is beyond imagination.

I don't even know what to do, but RIP.
