"I have long said that I am fully committed to helping with the transition. Phil has asked me to stay on as CEO of ABK, reporting to him, and we have agreed that I will do that through the end of 2023. We both look forward to working together on a smooth integration for our teams and players."

Bobby Kotick: A new chapter for Activision Blizzard

CEO Bobby Kotick writes that combining with Microsoft will enable Activision Blizzard to deliver more fun, more joy, and more connection to more players.

thought it was threadworthy.

I wonder if Kotick walked into his office this morning, turned on a light and saw Phil sitting at his desk with an empty box on the floor in front of him. A vicious staring contest took place until Kotick relented and said 'gg,' slumping his shoulders lurching forward.

Fresh start to the year, employees will probably like that, hopefully things turn around for them and Microsoft does it better.

As much of an asshole he is, big shoes to fill and can you keep the COD train going amongst other things they have. I would be sweating that one.

Best case scenario.

Him not making loads of money was never on the cards but at least he won't have influence for much longer (and even now he has someone to answer to).

Bobby Kotick is out! After agreeing to a massive golden parachute agreed on successful sale of Activision to Microsoft.

wish he goes to jail, instead he's gonna make so much money out of this :\

It sucks, but know that there is never enough money to these rich fucks. They exist on a totally different plane of existence for us. If they didn't, they'd all be long retired instead of wasting their golden years still going to work, despite having millions upon millions of dollars. They all want more.

This was always inevitable imo, Zenimax's board of directors was dissolved after their acquisition and Activision's will most likely eventually be too, which was the more materially important position Bobby held a stake in.

Good fuckin riddance. Zero consequences and instead vastly rewarded for what he's done. But at least he's out

Hope that Microsoft, the media and everyone in general don't just act like everything is fixed now. Lot more to be done
