Will Biden have the STAMINA to make it through three hours? But in all seriousness I hope Warren and Bernie dominate.

Alright Booker, this is your last chance to earn that #1 slot.

My fingers are crossed for a Warren/Booker tag team.

1000%, especially if Warren and Sanders tag team Biden and drag him across the stage!

No the debates arent literally rigged in favor of Biden but capitalism "forces" these fucking companies to split the main contenders into different nights to keep ratings from plumeting so, in a way, they are helping Biden in this moment because his two biggest threats cannot share a stage with him until we are three months away from Iowa (with the lucky exception of today that we got entirely because Steyer lacked one more qualifying poll)
I hope you're right that in November these debates trim some serious fat.

This guy Tom Perez speaking right now is everything that's wrong with the Democratic Party. There would have been a climate debate but nope. After all, like many other corporate Dems, he's subserviant to corporate power

I like Castro but he's seemingly so far behind, it would take a lot to push him forward in the pack

Wouldn't paying for it out of pocket make it even more illegal? I feel like you'd have to pass the money through multiple subsidiaries to make it legal.
I doubt that. A person can still work a job and give money to whoever they want for many reasons when they run for president technically. I suppose the angle for saying it's illegal is that it's an in kind donation to his campaign. But a candidate can put as much of their own money as they want on the line.

Looking at it:

Spending that isn't personal use
In addition to the "irrespective test," Commission regulations include other uses of funds that do not constitute personal use and thus are permissible uses of campaign funds.

Charitable donations
Gifts to charity are not considered personal use expenses as long as the candidate does not receive compensation from the charitable organization before it has expended the entire amount donated. Note that the amount donated must have been used for purposes that do not personally benefit the candidate.

Transfer of campaign assets
The sale or transfer of a campaign asset to either the candidate or a third party does not constitute personal use as long as the transaction is made at the fair market value.

Gifts
On special occasions, campaign funds may be used to purchase gifts or make donations of nominal value to persons other than the members of the candidate's family.
www.fec.gov

Personal use - FEC.gov

Using campaign funds for personal use is prohibited. FEC guidance on which expenses are considered to be personal use and which expenses are considered on a case-by-case basis, including charitable donations, gifts, candidate salary, meals, vehicles, travel and legal expenses

I'd imagine it could be spun as the first or third of that.

umm does this violate FEC guidelines, and is it legal?

Hoping for an answer to this, it feels SUPER DUPER illegal.
Apparently legal if the money comes directly from him, lol. Basically it's a personal gift.

It's clearly vote buying though, lol. Because why wouldn't you vote for the guy that just gave you $12,000.

God, the truly terrrible Bernie supporters are out in full force tonight against Warren. I've even seen some obvious bots there just churning up trouble, attacking Warren as a hypocrite or something.

It's now obvious to both Sanders and Bernie, judging from a lot of polls, that Warren can pull this off sooner or later at the expense of both of them, so their surrogates and supporters are going to try and push her out starting today.

Let's see how prepared she is for this.

Immediately when opening that stream:

"People want to hear the truth. They can see through the spin. Devotion to the truth."

"Or just fake it"

Great, Rahm. Thanks

I think he's already done this with some families, it was discussed in his NPR interview

I kind of hate his phrasing of "let's show why money is the answer" because it comes of like policy doesn't matter

It's nice to be a progressive and not a stan and, while having a preference of Warren, not really caring if Bernie wins either. Shrug

Warren said recently on the Young Turks show that she'll probably start taking corporate cash if she wins the primary. That means a big nope for me for Elizabeth Warren and of course I'm sticking with Bernie, who isn't afraid to call himself a socialist.

If Sanders wins the nomination, is he planning on creating a Joint Fundraising Committee, if so how does he plan to solicit funds for it, and if not how does he plan to support down-ballot campaigns that don't have national exposure.
