i dont think its a good movie, but its not bad enough to be something shameful either. in fact, considering the average quality of game movies till very recently, it could actually be considered one of the best

My exposure to this movie will forever be tainted by the anime. I think I told the story before, but I'll tell it again. My friend had the movie on VHS and I wanted to borrow it, but he leaned it out to another friend so I had to wait. He asked whether I wanted to watch the animated movie instead. I didn't know it existed, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I agreed to borrow it and tied me over until the live-action film comes back. Booooooy was I in for a ride. The Street Fighter 2 anime was what made me fall in love with anime. The version I borrowed was the original Japanese release and wasn't the cut down US dub that came out a few years later.
When the live action movie finally came back and it was my turn, I was so let down by that movie. I'm like, what is this shit? The anime was so much better.

I've seen it exactly once, in December of 2017. I was interrupted due to my dog making a mess and that may have affected my enjoyment. I admittedly treat the film like I treat Batman & Robin. It's frankly not bad enough for me to seriously get into it. I will say that in some respects, the live-action movie was an adaptation that predicted the future tone of the brand.

Frankly, that Universal was allegedly trying to get the band back together for a sequel and got screwed by the rights expiring is a bit of a tragedy. Could've been one of the few highlights of the franchise in the mid-2000s.

It's a load of fun. I wish they'd make another Street Fighter movie in that vein again. The Chun Li film, '94 cartoon movie and Assassin's fist just weren't as enjoyable for me as they took themselves too seriously.

It's a great movie. I watched it for the first time some months ago and I can't believe it took me this long to finally see it. Raul Julia was amazing as M Bison.
I just bought the steelbook on Amazon and plan to watch with my friends soon. I only remember small bits of it as a kid.
