Ok , explain me what they mean by Xbox having no early access programme? They don't know abt game preview?

https://screenrant.com/h1z1-xbox-one-version/

"Of course, of course. Right now, our focus is the PlayStation 4. Once it is out and we're happy with the state of it on PS4, we're always open to exploring other platforms. It's just, for right now in the short-term, our focus is PS4."

That is about it.

So how bad did Sony fuck up by letting these folks go? Ah, well, there's no guarantee this would be the same game, hitting at this same moment, if they had kept a hold. Like others have already said, 'grats to Daybreak.

Kind of crazy if you think about it, Sony had these guys AND Brendan Greene (PlayerUnknown) in the pocket and got rid of them.

Could you imagine if they were paying attention to this game and actually tossed some money at the project back then instead of letting it drag? The entire Battle Royale landscape would've been COMPLETELY different right now, they could've hired him on fulltime and PUBG wouldn't even have existed. That is completely nuts.

Even though at one time SOE was reporting to Kaz, they still operated in a very strange way that was obviously very different compared to any of the studios under the WWS umbrella. They prioritized PC releases over whatever console had out at the time. The whole relationship was bizarre to be honest. So it didn't surprise me that Sony eventually let them go because they were just so different compared to what SIE does.

Consoles are very easy to use and more accessible IMO than PCs

When you have a free to play game with an 80million user base you got a chance to be successful if it's decent

lol BS. Xbox is the only console which offers proper early access for games. Sony obviously paid them to say all this nonsense to make Xbox look bad, typical Sony.

Also this free to play, so not a big deal if it reaches 10m on platform with 80m users.

It was an obvious joke mate. But your response is funnier "proper early access", "Sony paid them" lol

I don't get it. I think it's a bit crappy. Don't get me wrong, it's fun enough for a bit with friends, but then most games are inherently amusing when you add your friends into the mix.

Generally;
- it looks bad. Graphics are horrible.
- shooting mechanics feel all wrong to me, clunky, glitchy.
- collision detection is awful. Shooting people who don't die, explosive bolts that don't kill people, entire clips into people who dont die, cars that refuse to run people over. The times I've run someone down with my car and nothing has happened. I squashed some guy against a building with my car and he stood glitched in the bonnet and shot me dead.
- no interesting physics to speak of, enemies just slump to the floor regardless how they die, the world is very inconsistent; this wooden fence can be driven through, that wooden bench stops you like a solid wall, glass doesn't break etc.
- loot is really boring. No interesting guns, armour, clothing. It's the same few items over and over again, wow another red bike helmet, wow another hellfire.
- worth saying how bad it looks again. It's graphically one of the worst games I've played in recent times. Really takes me out of the experience with how shittily textured everything is, how barren the world is.
- every single match ends up with a number of people driving circles around each other in cars. Every time. I've never had a match end differently.

Good stuff is that is seems to connect quite quickly, and it runs well, but everything else just seems so utterly basic and crappy and unremarkable. I must be missing what the appeal is. I assume it will get more polished in time, but right now.....ehhhhhh.

F2P is blowing up on PS4. You can bet that the big publishers are taking note.

It was a decent change of pace from Fortnite for awhile but the visuals and the complete lack of an interesting end game tanked my interest in it after a few days. Congrats to the devs on the success. There's clearly a demand for this.

All your points are extemely valid and the reason why the game completely died on PC when a better successor came out (PUBG at the time). Of course at the time it wasn't free to play, maybe that's the difference.

Well deserved. It' very very good, I dare say it's the best battle royale game. Shame that they split off the classic, DayZ-like survival mode, because, that, too, is the best in its category. Check it out on PC if you can, it's called "Just Survive". As a bonus, on PvE servers, the players are super cool and helpful, too.

Really impressive numbers, congrats! Haven't played yet but meaning to give it a try. I'm a sucker for BR.

H1Z1 is already bigger than PUBG? Impressive!

Bigger than PUBG on console yeah. But PUBG has had 400 million players and has 87 million that play every day across all platforms. Game is absolutely ginormous in Asia.

It's fun now and again, but updates are too infrequent, there's little to work towards, and the monetized stuff is extremely pricey.
I'm actually liking how i'm not itching to buy skins because of the horrible graphics and animation this game has, but i still play it regularly for fun.
Fortnite has some pricey skins that are incredible, so i'm actually grateful here.

if you want to grow the community even more, invest in PS4 competition scene. All the H1Z1 tournaments I've seen so far are pc centric.

Right, I expect PUBG on PlayStation 4 would shortly eclipse H1Z1 in popularity, though one has to account that PUBG has a $30 price tag while H1Z1 is free.

I remember when this was first announced for PS4, people were laughing and saying this DOA I.e. People here are bad at predicting stuff

They actually made a good decision. This company was in the red and until this success it looked like H1Z1 was in development hell. Not to mention they canceled a lot of their heavy hitters. I was actually expecting them to fold until this. Although there's no way to know just how much they're making on this game. If it justifies the years of development and redevelopment.

Once a Sony game. But they sold it. Congrats to Daybreak Games.

Well I mean... As you might notice it's just now arriving on PS4. That's the reason Sony sold SOE (after almost killing the studio completely) - They weren't Getting With The Program and remained a PC developer.

Man I got a whole list of bullet-points buried around here somewhere on how SOE basically got screwed to the edge of death following Kaz Hirai becoming the CEO of Sony. Prime example, control over them being transferred from Sony Music Group over to PlayStation, of which proceeded to "incentivize" SOE to embrace the PS4 by slashing the budgets of any project that SOE couldn't produce a PS4 version of, basically killing EverQuest Next and shooting Planetside 2 in the knee.

Smedly said this somewhere, but it's been awhile and it'd take some time to dig it up again - But take it with a Grain of Salt I guess because a lot of people here feel that anything Smedley says about Sony (See: His statement about Sony blocking Crossplay) is tainted by him being a classic example of a Disgruntled Ex-Employee.

It's kind of crazy after how their original fanbase revolted with the whole renaming saga and abandoning the original H1Z1.

Given that H1Z1's initial promise that attracted its original audience was "DayZ but we'll actually complete it unlike Bohemia Interactive instead of turning it into a Battle Royale we swear." I think it's easy to understand why the original fanbase revolted.

Y'know, given the fact that they violated that "Promise" by turning it into another Battle Royale and abandoning the game that people bought into in the first place.

some valid points, however I have won pretty much every game on foot, thats about almost 10 wins so far. if you do it smart. But yeah you should have a car going into the end, but it is far from necessary if you play it right an know what you are doing. if you hide, have good cover, then people need to get out of their cars to rally engage you, and also cars will be running out of gas or be fairly damaged, and low on life by the end too.

As for other points, havent noticed much issue with shooting or bad hit registration, seems fairly good besides only a couple issues here or there I have seen.

The game is a bit rough in areas, and I definitely agree with not being able to drive through the smaller objects.

Also they have been updating the game and adding new weapons, like the emp grenade and airstrike. And new mechanics, like revives. Hopefully they will keep adding more stuff and improving it.

Anyone know if consoles will get the new PC map too?
