The quantum break powers feel was strong in this, I genuinely thought it was QB2 and it was a Beth story at first.

Day one for me, no hesitation.

please dont tie in tv show content into it... i could not finish QB because of it.... i know it's supposedly not "mandatory" but to me it's not and probably provides some exposition and i don't want to sit through that.

You really don't need to TV shows at all. Not finishing QB because of that is a disservice to yourself.

I'm absolutely devastated by this. It actually knocked the wind out of me. Alan Wake is my favorite game. I can't believe they still refuse to give us a sequel. I know it sounds bad tempered but I'm honestly done with Remedy. If you're not going to bother with a sequel why litter Quantum Break with Alan Wake easter eggs, including a trailer that actually says Alan Wake 'RETURN'.

I can't believe this. Just like QB there's nothing thematically enticing about this. Alan Wake was something special, something wasted.

Disappointed to see this. The quirkyness of the time fluctuations ended up being more of a distraction than anything in QB. Now it looks like they just replaced them with Inception effects. I wish Remedy would just go back to making a great third person shooter.

To me it's the equivalent of skipping cut-scenes or mashing x on scrolled dialogue...sure i can figure things out on the go but it's clearly meant to be apart of the overarching experience.

It's not like skipping cutscenes though. It's literally structured to avoid that scenario.

The TV show tells a parallel story, not one that is central to the game.

The main plot point that the TV show conveys is that Mr Hatch is not what he appears to be. It's kind of important, but no, it's not mandatory. Same as watching the Mr Scratch recordings in Alan Wake: American Nightmare wasn't really necessary to understand the story.

You're taking it way too hard. Remedy makes the games they want to make, but also as it's their first year as a publicly traded company they needed to announce something that isn't a sequel to a game that initially failed to meet sales expectations. I've read from the investors side of their site that they do have another unannounced project in the works - maybe it's a downloadable AW story.

They want to make an Alan Wake sequel. It's not up to them.

This was definitely one of the most interesting things in the conference. I really liked Quantum Break, but I felt it came up short in many areas. Hopefully this game can improve upon the type of shooter that was.

Loving the replies. Glad you all like it and looking forward to it.

Keep in mind that what you see is WIP (Work In Progress).

How dare you disrespect Charlie Wincott like that!

This was a massive surprise and what quantum break should've been. It is up there with the Last of us and anthem. What an awesome game.

I knew it was remedy almost immediately.

Their lighting is second to none.

Hell, I'm struggling to think of a studio that prioritizes lighting as much as they do.

I really want this to be good. Quantum Break was such a huge disappointment to me after Alan Wake which is one of my favorite games of all time. I hope there's no TV show like in QB.

I have high hopes though, and that trailer is definitely one of the best things out of E3 so far. I can't wait to hear what comes out of the Remedy meetings a lot of outlets have scheduled.

Everyone in here shitting on quantum break is pissing me off... that game was amazing.

It's cool that perspective exists for the character, but The mystery of Mr Hatch isn't central to QBs story- it's all about Jack and Paul. The main narrative works just fine with Hatch simply being the CEO and face of Monarch.

Quantum breaks biggest issue with some in the community from what I recall is that the game didn't make it clear you shouldn't be playing it like a cover based shooter. You should have been flying around using all of your powers. When you played it like that it was an incredibly fun game.

It's baffling to me that people didn't get this. you can freeze time... why are you hiding behind a wooden box? The action is quantum break is unparalleled. I'd load up the garage even over and over again.

Exactly, I thought QB as more in the vein of Mass Effect's biotic powers and detonations, except with a lot better graphics.

Mr Hatch shouldn't exist. He is from beyond the End of Time. He's been working behind the scenes to ensure the End of Time happens. He's a shifter able to stabilise himself. His existence after you "fix" time means that you didn't actually fix time, and to make matters worse you're personally running out of time because you're already showing symptoms of the same sickness Paul had. (Including seeing the branching paths.) QB has great potential for a sequel, and I hope it comes to fruition under MS's new management.

Game looks excellent!

Not enough people are talking about 505 Games who have stepped up big time lately. Last Day of June, Laser League, Portal Knights and now this. Genuinely interesting content on a consistent basis.

oh I'm well aware of all of this... that's why I wish we had a sequel. :)

still, one doesn't need to know any of this to follow QB1, and I'm sure the hypothetical QB2 would actually dive into the concept of "shifters" and Hatch as a villain. they'd develop the game assuming players didn't watch the tv show or read the logs.

This looked just like Quantum Break. Even a lot of the animations were the same.

I'll give it a go because Remedy is great at what they do.

Is this a Quantum Break sequel? Seemed to have a lot of similarities. Looked solid either way. Hopefully it can improve on QB.
