Well the audience also expected All Might to say it.

EITHER WAY it would have been better than 1 million percent
I don't see why.
All Might saying Go Beyond Plus Ultra in the Nomu fight is cool because he concludes with that punch an incident that started from people thinking "All Might is weakened now" and planning their attack around that so he literally has to go beyond what was expected and because it sets the tone for the idea that great heroes will always make it out of a pinch, which was reiterated here with Midoriya thinking about those words and is presumably what the students will go on to prove as the series goes on and they show their worth when put in tough situations. Having Midoriya and all the other students say "Plus Ultra" every time they go beyond their limits in a pinch would get tiresome. It's enough to simply know that these moments and final attacks represent them going Plus Ultra without having them say it all the time.

I don't need to have the motto screamed out loud all the time, just it being lived up to is enough. It's like asking for Naruto to end every arc shouting "Will of Fire" or Luffy to finish everyone off with "Will of D". It's stupid.

It wouldn't make sense for other students to say it since Deku's strength is measured by what his body could handle at the time. So his limits are a pretty important theme to the story.

All Might saying it during the Nomu fight was him letting us know that he was capable of going beyond his full strength.

It wouldn't be like having Naruto talk about the will of fire. It would be like having him spout off his ninja way bullshit that got dumb after the first time, whereas here, it's about heroes, catchphrases and Deku living up to All Might

Well, All Might loves Symbolism, so him using the Motto of the school he teaches at could be easily seen as such an act.

Especially since he knew that the students were watching.

How can the first fight in an arc be this good? Holy shit, guys.

Edit: And the OP is good stuff. It probably weirds people out because it doesn't have the exact same progression as every single other shonen OP ever.

I don't love the OP, but it is certainly isn't trash like some people say, your reasoning seems spot on.

I love different, weird and quirky ops, but my dislike of this one isn't because it's different, it's because the singer is pretty annoying and the pacing is all over the place. Like, most of the times it doesn't sync with the visuals, and other times where there's a "calm" part in the song there are like explosions going on and it just irks me.

Over time I like the visuals more, but this version of the song less and less.

I've watched the OP more than 20 times now and I have still never gotten the vibe that there's a mismatch between visual/audio.

That sounds like a lot of effort to reach for a remote to move the slider to that right point twice an episode.

I was introduced to several great groups through their anisongs, ALLOUT, lol, KANA-BOON, ELISA, Maon Kurosaki, Nothing''s Carved in Stone, Ray, OxT.

You monster...

I skip them after like 4-5 episodes but most of the time they're ok to great. EDs are completely skippable tho, only use is to have some background music while reading the comments

It always gets me when Deku says sorry to his mom as he's getting crushed by Muscle guy.

PS: the OP is still trash

I almost never skip the openings. The only times I do is when I just really don't like the song (like with Death Note's second opening) or if the opening has been around for too long so I'm getting tired of it. (recently with Yugioh Vrains having opening 1 for 46 episodes, I started skipping it in mid-thirties).

I don't love the OP but neither do I hate it. I just think the way it ends/builds is really weird. Admittedly that kind of is because it doens't follow typical structure but hey whatever

I straight up hate its weird build ups and downs. I don't think its just It being "weird", I like off beat stuff like Paranoia Agent or Monster's op just fine, but this doesn't do it for me at all.

Bakugo and Muscular are literally the same person with the exact same reckless self-exaltation of their own power. The only difference is that the author says Muscular crossed a line while Bakugo didn't. And only because the author says "Bakugo is okay" and says "Muscular is not okay" with literally zero difference between how they actually behave. They even have the exact same hair and eye color.

Bakugo isn't, you know, a murderer. That's probably an important distinction to make.

It's unrealistic that someone with a power as similarly destructive as Muscular's and equally prone to attack defenseless individuals as Bakugo has been shown to wouldn't have maimed or killed individuals. It's literally impossible but for stupid ass writing. Why do you like stupid ass writing so much?

HxH had mostly the same OP for all of its 148 episodes, lol. They just changed the video and sliiiightly altered the lyrics.

I don't think anyone really cares about how realistic the portrayal of superpowers is.

Dude chill. We dont need to go that far anyway. We already have a hypnotist in show. We dont need to jack up the age rating because you want realism in one particular area.

Bakugou's easily the most enjoyable character in the show for me.

And humans have way higher durability in this series than in real life, you can see that throughout the series so I don't see why Bakugou would have necessarily killed or maimed someone. Plus he can control the strength of the explosions, it's not like he was using howitzer impact on Deku when they were in intermediate lol

Then it makes no sense for Muscular to have ever maimed or killed someone. Stop defending bad writing. It makes you look bad.

Again if you guys stop defending Bakugo's writing then the discussion can move past him permanently.

Considering you're in the minority... Maybe you are?
I'm pretty sure igniting nitroglycerin on children's faces like Bakugo did to Deku and the unnamed kid Deku defended is pretty harmful but you're welcome to test it out on your self and report the results.

Or you could just acknowledge that Bakugo is a pimple on the series and we can move on.

Bakugou was/is a bully and an asshole, I don't think anyone is debating that. But in universe getting a nitroglycerin explosion to the face is like getting beat up by an older kid in our universe. Bullies don't all grow up to become serial killers, your arguments don't make sense.

And going "ok we need to move on but first accept that I am right" is such an obnoxious way to talk to people, jeez.

Pictures of eels are obnoxious but I never attacked you on that. It's really disappointing to me that you would stoop so low.

Not really when the same lethal power Muscular used on Deku is similar in scale to what Bakugo used on Deku. But when Muscular used enough force to devastate a city block it's so obvious it's completely different when Bakugo uses the same level of force to devastate an entire city block during his fight with Deku that's 100% different.

In a world where Todoroki's fire doesn't cause 3rd degree burns or a guy has freaking car engines in his calves, I think it's fair to assume that Bakugo's explosions act in pretty much the same way, and don't cause major damage if Bakugo doesn't want it. He throws an explosion at Deku's arm and it just made some bruises. And this was before Full Cowl so he's just a regular kid.

We've been shown what he can do, when he throws those freaking massive explosions to the sky and obliterates rocks, and the difference between him and Muscular is that Bakugo doesn't use those attacks on people's faces.

Yeah I'm out, I'm pretty sure we already had that exact same discussion sometime in the past (maybe when S02 was airing?), just google the old conversation and you'll find answers to all your questions. It's obvious you're not going to change your mind, in fact you just seem to be getting angrier which makes it even worse.

Lol, what's up with you? Is Bakugou triggering some bad memories or something? No need to get so aggresive with the conmunity here. I don't mind Baku but he's had his moments, specially in the coming arcs.

I don't think anyone says that Bakugo's not an asshole. It's just that some people still like him despite/because of that.

Iida's full force kick literally shattered strain's ribs and punctured the dude's fucking lungs. Iida having engines in his calves is treated as serious and extremely powerful. Iida was justified because stain was absolutely a lethal threat but the series made no exceptions about how powerful and devastating Iida's quirk can be. Todoroki's fire absolutely caused serious damage to Stain, instantly knocked him unconscious and then some, but Stain was also trying to kill him in the moment so he is justified through self defense. Endevor's flames, the basis of Todoroki's flames, are so deadly as to prevent regeneration though permanent cell damage. If Todoroki was using that level of power on quirks with zero repercussions it'd be stupid just like it's stupid and completely nonsensical for Bakugo to have done so.

the difference between him and Muscular is that Bakugo doesn't use those attacks on people's faces.

He literally has though.

Bakugo breaks my suspensions of disbelief. Like completely snaps it. The writing involving him is just aggressively bad in a series that's otherwise pretty good. The worst written character I've seen in a manga since Sasuke post Itachi fight.

See, this is the thing. Fire doesn't knock people unconscious. It burns them. In this world people have an insane amount of control on their quirks.

He literally has though.
He hasn't though. Look at the explosion's he's done when fighting someone, be it Deku, Todoroki, or any bad guy from the leage of villains. Those are mildly concussive at best. Now look at the explosions he did in the training last episode, or the one he did at the end of the fight against Uraraka, pointed at the sky where nobody can get hurt. If he pointed that at somebody they'd be completely obliterated, but he hasn't done it. Again, he has an insane amount of control.

It's cool that Bakugo annoys you, I get it, but one thing is complaining about him and another is nitpicking something that every character does. Hell, let's talk about that time Pixie Bob throws all students OFF A CLIFF and they miraculously survive with just some bruises. Or Kaminari who would most definetely kill someone with his electric attack but it's just played for laughs. Or Mina who throws FREAKING CORROSIVE ACID. There are tons of instances of this in the show, it's not just him. Just roll with it.

I suggest everyone calms down a bit and stops with the ad hominem's before continuing this discussion, because I really don't want to have to step in if you want to have a legitimate discussion on Bakugo.
