Seeing how it is Sekai Project being responsible for 3/4 of the VNs, I reckon the releases wouldnt be so close together. If anything, it will be delays and more delays based on their abysmal track record.

I know it aint LRGs fault

Nurse Love Addiction is $40 on PSN so prepare for the possibility of a $50 regular edition. Just Kero Blaster for me on Friday. Not really into visual novels and money's too tight for stuff I don't really really need. Kero Blaster I do need.

I'd be surprised if it's more than $39.99. It's so niche, not something like Dariusburst that was able to sell at a premium.

What bothers me is not knowing the price or contents of the Collector's Edition 4 days away.

Niche or not (makes up most of the LRG catalog) they would be selling it at cost, doing it that way. That's bad business.

One game I've kind of forgotten to pester the good LRG boys about recently but really really still want is Jamestown+ on the PS4. I remember something along the lines of LRG having contacted them but been unable to reach them or something like that. Seems like the studio is more or less just 3-4 dudes so it's not like Vivendi's lawyers need to be negotiated with. They should want a few easy thousand bucks and the world desperately needs their great game on disc. Any chance of an update on that one? It feels like such a good fit for LRG.

I think it depends on if the game is selling well digitally or not. I mean if they are selling like next to no digital copies at that price, they should be happy to get a guaranteed few thousand copies sold physically, even if the price will be on par with the digital price.

To add to this, I'd like to pester LRG about the Supergiant games. They've made 3 very well regarded games now and they love making physical merch (vinyls, cds, plush toys, figures, etc. etc.), but somehow there still are no physical copies of their games?? Has LRG ever commented at all about Supergiant? I really want to own Bastion, Transistor, and Pyre.

All I could find of Supergiant ever saying anything on this matter is from an old AMA:

"Hey, yeah, as a studio whose games exist exclusively as data on people's hard disks, we see a lot of appeal in creating physical versions of our games or aspects of them. That's why we've invested so much in our online store, with soundtrack CDs and figurines and stuff like that. We've never put our games in a box, though! It's something we've thought about for sure, it's just never really come together for us thus far. Maybe someday! Thank you for your interest."

They seem at least open to the idea. Has LRG ever tried to contact them?

I'd be surprised if NLA was above $40 just because LRG hasn't prepared us for this possibility. I think it was well known for Dariusburst that it'd be more expensive, but here they've said nothing.

(I'm not interested in it though ^^
Organ Trail and Kero Blaster for me !)

I doubt that game is selling any copies on vita. LRG would be ambitious to sell it at 50, and a CE at like 80.

If LRG didnt wait till the last minute like they always do, people can plan for more expensive releases/CE

They don't work for free...

Are you sure it's LRG taking their time... or the original game's publishers waiting to get certified by the ESRB before they can officially announce a dste?

It'd need to get its rating way before the game went into manufacturing.
No way they're selling the game this Friday and it's not even in the middle of manufacturing.

(Although ideally the game should be ready before selling... yeah yeah yeah... I'm a broken record)

Plus the game was announced way back already.

Oh I didn't mean Nurses specifically, but the "waiting till the last minute" comment in general. A page or so back they were saying how some releases were waited on for some time to be officially unveiled, due to the annoyance of the rating. I think that's what happened to Senko no Ronde.

Wait, do you think if they release the game for 40, that the devs don't make any money? Lets say 3k normal copies, 2k CE edition copies, at 40 and 75, that is 270,000. A large percentage of that goes to the devs. I can't imagine the devs sold anywhere close to 5,000 copies on PSN

No, LRG makes $0 money is what I'm saying. There's a reason every release they put out is more expensive than PSN...

Of course they make money, even if they sell NLA at 39.99. Jeez, some days I wish I was this ignorant. So you're saying the 10 dollar increase is just pure profit for LRG? So on a 5k run, they make 50 grand? Can't wait to see their new company Ferrari

5k of an extremely niche title is going to be a hard sell, especially if it is at 49.99. I guess we will see, but typical LRG fashion, no info is up on the website less than 3 days before it goes on sale.

the $10 on top of the prices is for production costs too so they probably make $2-3 per game and then they have 12 staff members to pay

except production costs isnt anywhere close to 10 dollars on top, but that is what companies want you to believe in the end. Like the 10 dollar switch tax.

I am interested to see how well NLA sells. I've only seen mild interest and some who are interested are turned off by a possible 50 dollar price tag. I guess we will find out the price 10 minutes before it goes on sale by the looks of it.

They said in an interview that they would be "knocking it out of the park" which made me think Thimbleweed, but then they also said that it was a new, unannounced game.

Everything points to it being Thimbleweed Park i believe. The 30th is the same date it was released last year. Technically, it hasnt been officially announced.

But once again, they cannot get out an announcement in a reasonable amount of time and delayed it

Honestly not trying to be a dick, but you probably shouldn't be buying these kind of things If you are living so close to the margins that a $10 - $20 swing in prices is cause for alarm.

we have a resident business expert in the thread i see and before you say it i'm not claiming to be one but i just think that sony never bothered to try and lower production costs of the flash memory needed for Vita and on top of that the switch thing is probably right because it'll likely be 5-6x the cost of a disc even at batch level

And your explanation on the parity of vita physical and digital titles? The big vita titles are about 5x more the cost of a ps4 disc, but still manage to keep same price. I dont know.

it probably wasn't as big of a problem as it is on switch because 4gb was pretty cheap in 2012 whereas 16/32gb is still pretty high in comparison of price

Yeah, except most of the titles getting this 10 dollar increase arent ones going on big carts, but rather 1gb ones. It is even worse with large games because they are putting part of the game on the cart and rest as a download to save money, which is disappointing
