There is a Broly

That monologues. It'll be a fight like normal, and then the fight will freeze and Broly will monologue and it's amazing and I want that to happen here

I'm giving you a very stern look, because that's real dumb, but I want to see it.

That's not what I meant.

The eyes look super flat, the face shading is really off, it just looks like some 3D model with pretty colors.

This is almost anime perfect :

I would expect all of the DLC characters to look DRAMATICALLY better than the core roster.

Man count yourself lucky I almost always face higher ranked opponents. I have a green square but at least when I lose to them I still gain. Wish I could get some low ranked guys but some of those are fantastically trained from arena and ring matches anyway

Well what rank are you? I'm Demon so there are a lot more people below my rank than above (although I've been getting lower ranks since about SS2 and Supreme Kai).

Uhm. No? Bardock has more 3d shadowS or whatever, he looks more like xenoverse... if done right. Those shadows are nowhere to be found in the anime.

They should really change the ranked system. You can grind out almost any rank with a 40% win rate. I'm running into Super Saiyan 3 players sitting at 50%. It's basically meaningless.

I thought the ladder was setup to be forgiving of people at lower ranks so they could feel good bout themselves and climb up. At the top pro ranks is where taking a loss hits hard watching their streams. Looks like it's working well from what I could see.

If they will fix anything, punish DQs and RQs please but not holding my breath for that since ASW never has punished ragequits all these yrs

Looked back a few pages and didn't see this posted yet:

wow truly beautiful. Hope Broly fits with my playstyle. Loved him in all the other DB games though so the chances of them getting him wrong are pretty slim

Ugh, I really have a love hate relationship with Yamcha. When he works he's very fun, but there are many times where I just cant get anything started with him when the opponent has a good nuetral. I think it comes down to his 2M being pretty short. I have a bit of an over reliance on using 2M to get things started since most of the characters I play have nice big ones.

I think I need to start really using IAD as Yamcha more since that can lead to his rekka shenanigans.

Man the more I go back and watch clips of it the more I really hope Janemba makes it in as a longshot DLC somehow.
leRCcJw.gif

  • Canonically way stronger than SSJ3 had to use Gogeta fusion to take him out.
  • Had a stylish teleport that looked like his body breaking apart into legos and lights.
  • used portals to catch ki attacks and shoot them back at foks like a counter
  • used portals to dodge and fire his own attacks at odd angles
  • had a dimensional sword that could also send slashes and cut at long range
  • had a mouth cannon
  • had stretchy limbs and they snaked not just stretches so ...steerable limb stretch like a mix of Piccolo's grab and Krillins steerable ki shots?
Dude has a lot of potential with those portals and grabs plus a sword for long range pokes means we'd have a neat runaway guy. Possibly the first Dhalsim esque style in the game so long as he could keep some kind of attack or portal in front of himself to hide behind to starts throwing those portal attacks, limb stretch techniques, and large hitbox sword swings. Just so much moveset potential.

Goku was probably the very first character they started modeling......With practice comes perfect.
Goku Black & Blue look insanely good..BETTER than the Anime itself:

On PS4 only 7% of players have completed 10 ranked matches. You don't need to make it easy to move up the ranks if the matchmaking is done properly.

What do you consider pro ranks? SSJ3? Majin? SSG?

If Cooler can make it in, Janemba can make it in. Unless season two (assuming we get S2) is all ToP, I almost expect Janemba.

I kept getting matched with this Super Saiyan God rank earlier (I'm at Super Saiyan 3) since I guess few other people were online, and there was one set where I actually just left after the first match because that was how hard I got my ass beat (and also 'cause it was going to be my last set anyways):

Can't remember the last time I played a match where I got defeated so handily that I truly felt like I learned nothing from it. It at least tells me I have a huge amount of room to improve.

LostSoul was deadass the dude that made me realize the variance in pink colored players in ASW games. I was a pink in Blazblue and thought I was hot shit in that game for the longest time, yet whenever I played him he bodied me back to being a scrub mentally. He's genuinely one of the top players in NA in both GG and BB so I'm not surprised in the slightest he's stealing souls in this either. I feel like anime fundamentals do more for you than Vs. game ones this early on, though obviously both is the best of both worlds.

It's hard to say what you did wrong in that match outside of LostSoul using deflect on one of your block strings and punished you for it. Rest of the time you just made incorrect reads and got steamrolled since that's how 16 is. Such a weird matchup.

This might come off as a shock to you, but that's exactly what it is, 3D models with pretty colors, same for Bardock too.

Oh yeah, I don't think I ever posted this here. I've been taking hi res shots on PC to use as wallpapers or whatever and putting them all on a Google Drive. Some of them look pretty awesome. They work a treat if you've got the beta PSN firmware and use them as custom themes too. You have to resize images down to 4k if they're higher though, I took some at 2880p.

Da hell!? Captain Ginyu can DHC from his lvl 3 version of his lvl 1 super if he fully charges it into his partner's lvl 3 for only 1 BAR!?

So spend 4 bars...get two lvl 3 supers. God damn Ginyu.

Nice, you're playing the same exact team I am, I should check out some of your other matches to see what I can learn.

What I did learn from your replay though, is that 21's 5M > 5H in the corner, the thing that got your Hit killed, it kind of deceiving? Like, 5M puts her at a distance that might make you think it's safe to push a button, but then 5H closes that distance and from what I could tell, the only thing that could've beaten it was a deflect? But then again, they could also bait a deflect too, so I guess the best thing to do in that case is just block? What do you think you should've done to get out of that situation? Also, while I'm at it, how do you usually open people up with Hit?

I have a higher success rate with reversal supers in this game than any other by a gigantic margin.

(Some lowly SSJ2 rank, fake orange square thought) after your 21 was KO'd your Hit and Goku just went in. Would up backing to reassess the situation help at all in that match?

Honestly, level 3 supers are done pretty damn well in this game. They're a valid option on wake-up with how oppressive the game can be, though conversely they're easily safe-jumped otherwise negated if the opponent has a solid read (reflecting Cell's level 3 always feels great.) That the damage they do is entirely blue is great, too, so as long as it doesn't kill you're one sparking blast away from negating them entirely. My only real beef with level 3s is how little damage they do on DHC. I'm not asking for unscaled Marvel 3 damage or anything, but for how much flair they have and how fun they are to do getting ~1600 at max scaling when most level 1s do 900-1000 is kinda underwhelming.

Half of my comeback strategy is just throwing out Kid Buu's level 3 whenever someone does something near me.

Related- I find it easier to take risks in this game (as opposed to marvel 3) when you've got multiple characters left because you don't have a eat an incoming mix-up upon character death. Either my level 3 hits and I get momentum at worst case scenario is my character dies from the punjsh, but hey, I'm out of the corner, haha.

I kind of wish level one and three supers did slightly more damage and normals/specials did slightly less. Scaling makes most supers do pretty wack damage, so you end up burning meter on almost anything else.

Is it just me or does anybody else here kind of get annoyed with people taking tier lists very serious this early in a game's lifecycle?

So far, I feel everybody is viable in this game, and 9 times out of 10 the better player will win regardless of "tiers"

It's par for the course of the modern fighting game lifecycle, and everyone bandwagons on to whoever is rumored to be top tier ASAP.

It is a bit silly especially as the characters in this game all pretty much play the same compared to other fighters like Tekken. A good player will be able to beat a bad player no matter who they play as so it's better just to play who you wanna play as and get better that way rather than constantly worrying about who to play as and following the "trend".

To me it feels like a scapegoat for people. Ive always viewed fighting games in a way that I need to focus on my own weaknesses first before worrying about anything else. After all the biggest matchup isnt character vs character, rather it is player vs player.
