RuPaul is/was really important in expanding the audience for things like drag and changing broader social attitudes w/r/t queer public figures, but I'd never consider him to be a particularly thoughtful or socially responsible person. He's kind of like Madonna, in that he's influential or culturally significant, but outside of celebrity I don't think he has much to say.

What is she supposed to do for Trans women? I was unaware that she was elected to some kind of public position where she needs to be doing anything for anyone. I think if you're in any kind of position of notoriety and use that fame to help even one person...that's a net positive. Complaining at some B-list celebrity for not solving all the worlds problems seems....uninformed to say the least.

I'm not trolling. I just watched the video and was like "why does this person expect Rose McGowan to be some kind of savior for every group of people in the world"? Like I say, if she even helped one woman, or person of any persuasion, come forth about a difficult situation, that's more than most people will ever do. I think that we all agree that conservative right wing leaning which is the alternative either in the US or literally anywhere is worse, isn't it? And honestly, what you are asking for is literally impossible. Why? Because you don't get progressive voices to agree in every single thing, let alone convincing liberals of that. As long as we keep the infighting, things will keep getting worse.
Our "leaders" get there because of propaganda. The propaganda that elected Trump got people that are against LGBTQ+ rights, against abortion laws, against immigration, against "outrage culture", freaking religious nuts, pro gun people AND shit like 4chan, Milo and nazis all together rallying for Trump. I know that we are living in this world and it's hard sometimes to step back and see the big picture, but this conservative wave is hitting us hard and not just in the United States mind you because despite the fact that they are weak and not even the majority, we waste our time fighting each other. They are united. We are not. I don't need the woman that lashed out on Rose to be a perfect ally. I don't need Rose to be a perfect ally. We all need to understand that as long as we keep finding reasons to divide ourselves, things will keep getting worse. There are powerful forces at play that are figuring out ways to fuck us over again and again, and this isn't just an United States issue. It's endemic across the globe. We either stick together or we lose. It's do or die, and it's not just the fate of the United States that is at risk.

Yes, the conservative wave is growing stronger. And yes, they have SEVERAL disagreements among each other. Why the strawman? Nobody - literally nobody - said she needs to spend her life defending everyone. She DOES need to be held accountable for past transphobia, specifically if she is going to publically advocate for women's rights because, again, trans women are women.
Also, it doesn't seem like you're trying very hard to understand the context here given that the video begins with the heckler saying let's talk about your comments on the Ru Paul podcast. Also, this thread is filled with examples of why this person lashed out at her for transphobia.
One last thing: Everyone saying "She doesn't have to defend x, she's advocating for y," you understand your arguments are inherently trans exclusionary, right? If you are acting like the rights of trans women and the rights of cis women are apples and oranges, that is straight up othering trans people. Trans women and cis women are both women.
