It's fun to go back to BOTW but I didn't expect underwhelming DLC like this from Nintendo. They need to pay more attention to the best examples like The Witcher and Horizon.

This DLC costs 10 dollars, has 16 shrines (I think ?), a dungeon, several new armor sets, a bike, and more stuff
Like.. what did you expect lol

Weird that you can walk straight to the final boss after leaving the plateau (without requiring anything else) but gate the DLC behind completing all of the dungeons.

Not a fan at all of them adding too much technological stuff in my Zelda :/. What's next: cars and guns? Yep no fun allowed and all that but I think there should be a line for this kind of stuff and I feel like they crossed it here. Granted this just a DLC but even then I don't like that.
Might be reaching, but Wind Waker literally had a GBA in the Tingle Tuner item. It had an LCD screen and buttons and everything. Along with boat turrets. And spotlights. And Majora's Mask straight up had a jukebox in one of the areas.

Edit: There's even a list.

Hmm. Link has briefly dipped into Megaman 2.

If you walk straight to Ganon, you're never aware of the existence 4 champions.
They only appear in the castle sequence if you beat the divine beast.

As far as I know, you can't buy this separtely from DLC1 so it's $20. Even when combined, BOTW's DLC is a far cry from The Frozen Wilds ($20), Hearts of Stone ($10) and Blood and Wine ($20).

The new armor sets are integrated in a boring manner (plain old treasure hunts in already-existing areas), the shrines and the trials reuse a lot of assets, BOTW's dungeons are far from its best part so a new one isn't much of a draw. I suppose I was hoping for a substantial bit of story in a new area but that didn't happen.

edit: I'm not done with the new DLC so the story stuff may impress me in the end. I'm just not feeling it so far.

I'm torn in that I'd like to read impressions because the first BotW DLC was super-disappointing (hard mode was about as bad an implementation as they could have done), yet at the same time I've already bought the damn thing so I might as well go in blind.

All I'll say is that the first content pack was very content-light so this one had better make up the bulk of the value I paid. I guess Xenoblade is going on hold for a while, but how long remains to be seen...

EDIT: Before finding out what's in it, I expect this DLC to introduce at least some new story elements, some new overworld map feature or area, new shrines and a new dungeon (in the new area most likely). That would be fair.

I'll likely get this, at the least because of my soft spot for the series. Both dlcs combined sound like an ok sized addition, though it's unfortunate to hear the story is a bit bare still.

I'm curious if Nintendo plans to release any more dlc for the game, and keep building on the world. Seems like it would be a good way to prop things up and make some extra money in the lengthy time before the next main instalment is released.

So nothing with Mount Aghaat yet? The un-climbable plateau west of the Gerudo Highlands.

I get you guys don't want to waste money, but this weird equation of "I better get 200 square feet of new gameplay for every $4 I spent on this DLC" is weird to me.

Gotta say, the one hit plateau challenge is pretty bullshit. Combat is the weakest aspect of this game, and it's a huge shame that they doubled down on it on both DLCs. Not very pleased with it so far.

Other developers have done so much more with $20 DLC.

The one hit plateau stuff is awesome. Love sneaking in on dudes and frantically running away when spotted.
* shrug * Can't please everyone.

It's more about what I find value in. New costumes are content I find no value in. After all, the part of the game I loved was exploring and solving shrine puzzles, so if the DLC doesn't add that then it adds no value. Why would I be happy about paying something that ends up giving me no enjoyment / no value? Especially when it was offered for purchase blind, without knowing exactly what it would be. I put my trust in Nintendo here because the quality of the base game was so superlative.

But I'm speaking without knowing what's in this 2nd DLC, so it's entirely possible that it's worth it.

Really bummed to hear the new dungeon isn't traditional. Hope it's longer at least.

$20 isn't much for me to jump back in the game again but I do agree it sounds disappointing comparing it to other DLCs for adventure games in that price range

Weird to see some complain about the difficulty. Maybe it's because I've been playing master mode a lot, but these "kill all the enemies without taking a hit" parts aren't incredibly challenging. I'm having fun with it.

Yep, it's sweet. One of my favorite sections of the entire game. Love it.

If you aren't already in love with BotW's gameplay loop, this DLC isn't going to do much for you. Fortunately, I think it's pretty fantastic so far.

How does this DLC compares to the previous DLC? Is it combat heavy?

Master Trials was fucking horrible. Who thought it was a good ideal to build a DLC focused entirely on the game's worst aspect? If its just more of that I'm going to pass on it.

If you didn't like that, you probably won't like this, although it's not entirely combat focused.

Personally, I found Trial of the Sword to be my favorite bit of gaming of 2017.

I already finished it (lol), i think it was kinda underwhelming, except for the puzzles, the puzzles are p fucking good.

The bike is hella fun too.

So overall I'm quite torn. Is it 20 for both DLC or can you at least choose the second one only for 10? I'm not normally one for DLC but I am dying for another switch experience that isn't Xenoblade 2 because I'm nearly sure I'd hate it,

It comes down to the Bike really for me but then I'm thinking, An extra vehicle for 20... I dunno. I'm a little disappointed with what I'm hearing to be honest.

So you gotta beat the game first, huh? I guess I'll do this on completed save, then.

Anyone know how long this is?
You really just have to have beaten all four Divine Beasts. There's no way to actually continue from finishing the game (as in beating Calamity Ganon).

Is the DLC pack 2 available on Europe also? I quickly checked this morning, prior coming to work, and the stated released date was 31/12/2017.

edit:

I have just arrived home and checked it. It is available and they already updated the release date :)

New bosses confirmed, someone bought the pictures.

Molduking
Igneo Talus Titan
Monk Maz Koshia

The first two are self explanatory probably. Likely stronger versions. The third one I'm guessing is the boss of the dungeon. His slot is after Master Kohga's

Do they repawn? As they are field bosses or are they just one time kill only?
