Yeah, they've already said you can buy or earn customizations for all things.
So yes there will be MTX for customization but you can also earn it in-game.

Also, personalization and customization in this game are two different things, this was a personalization stream. In case they announce a customization stream in the upcoming weeks and it leaves people puzzled, a customization stream would showcase customizing abilities/weapons, etc.

It looks like it has transmog right out of the box; you could have look you want without worrying about the stats.

The customization is pretty impressive but it is also very obvious most of color/texture stuff will be part on a MTX system or part of many special editions of the game; Which in and of itself is find IF majority of them is in the base game.
As a long time Warframe player, I am always tempted to jump on the day 1 train. I was actually very hyped for it when this was first announced but I choose to tune myself out just so I can approach the game with a clear mind. Until I learn more on how this $60 title will be monetized, it will probably remain that way.

These customization options are so good. No wonder they're so confident in having only cosmetic microtransactions, their possibilities are endless.

Yes, the entire point of preordering and getting the special edition is extra cosmetic armour pieces.
Alright, I see. But I meant more in the lines of gear, loot that you can get from enemies, like a helmet from some giant robot or something, or even collecting materials to craft new Javelin pieces. A bit afraid when they say theres power and looks, and that it means loot you get from the game only changes stats.
No, you need it to survive in several situations. Going underwater and flying wouldn't make sense for instance.
No, you can get helmets and shit as loot from enemies but they'll only be cosmetic. The stats changing gear is all internal i.e you would get "engine of the eclipse" vs "armor of the eclipse" and it would give you +2 to defense or whatever.
You can get "active gear" like missile launchers and wrist cannons and stuff that do both though.
Yeah pretty much. The concept looks really cool but it's a Bioware release so needs to be approached with caution.
In fact it looks like a high budget Warframe ripoff which is actually fine by me.
Wouldn't be the first time a developer of a game debunks a rumor/leak and the person with insider info turns out to be right, really hope it isn't true but this is hardly reassuring.
Hope the PC release isn't delayed, at least, but if it ever happens it'll probably a simultaneous delay unfortunately.
the thing is that all the changes he made in the video looked like different forms of generic. i haven't seen a single cool looking character yet. they're all kind of ugly.
It's just a pity there will be nowhere to show off, considering there is no player hub in Anthem.
