Going from Miami to Colombia is just a whole different scale. I think I prefer Miami style large levels though. (Reminds me of Paris and Hokkaido from season 1)

Went back through Colorado to get my silenced sniper yesterday and SASO on Master is infuriating. The cameras make the whole place a fortress. I ended up just going back to Professional to get my Mastery level up elsewhere instead.

I will never ever get tired of whipping items at people's heads in these games. Its like just golden slapstick comedy every time.

Agreed. And if they ever fix the briefcase's throw speed then that would be a huge downgrade because I love the idea of Agent 47 and his magic briefcase.

Spent an hour in the game so far. Up to now my sole Hitman experience was playing through the tutorial in Hitman 2016 thanks to the demo, but that was a while ago and I forgot everything. So I was totally not prepared for Hawke's Bay. My original plan was just to start up the game to get Steam to recognize the legacy pack unlocks, but I ended up playing the whole scenario. I was so bad that at one point I found myself stuck to a wall suddenly for about a minute or so and had no idea how to unstick myself from it.

Reader, I killed SO MANY non-targets. Like enough to zero out my score entirely. The best part was that afterwards, the game was like "oh hey we see you never completed the tutorial do you like maybe wanna do that?" No kidding, game!

I got the game early with the gold edition, but i've still only completed the first 2 levels, just taking my sweet time with it and trying to see all the opportunities in the maps, i must have put 10 hours into Miami alone lol.

I finished the prologue. Loving the gameplay but cutscenes are disappointing. Would love to have full CG cutscenes like the first one.

I've been avoiding this thread as I'm playing the game because I don't want to stumble across spoilers, so this has probably been mentioned multiple times already, but: did they seriously just add little pink stickers with the number 2 on them on all of the old models and call them Mk.II? They look so bad and dumb.

Why would there be a little pink square on everything?

Why couldn't they just find a spot to inscribe a faint "Mk.II" on them or something, or heck just decrease their saturation a bit so everything Mk.II is a bit grayer or whatever.

Like... it just looks so bad and weird. I know it doesn't really matter and you hardly see it, but who would ever pick a normal looking tool or gun over the exact same looking one with a little arbitrary pink square on it.

Yeah I kind of got thrown in the deep end with this too. Luckily I progressed further in Hitman 2016, so I managed to get through it perfectly - albeit, very slowly.

Then I had to run training missions! Definitely an odd way to start the game.

I found a "Cannabis Joint" at one point in Miami and now I've found a use for it but for the life of me can't remember where it was. Anyone know offhand?

Is there anyway to use any unlocks (gear or suits) from season 1 in this?

By playing the Season 1 content in it. Clearly. :p

The new game also features some pretty lazy "here's the item from the first game with a STICKER on it" to accommodate players who don't have the prior game, but it comes off as really lazy.

100%'d the tutorial level last night, other than the sniper rifle kill which I obviously can't do yet.

Goddamn it was a good level even as a small introduction.

Can't wait to move on to the 'real' meat of the game tonight.

Man, I hope this game isn't a complete bomb for IO Interactive. The price on Amazon Germany for the PS4 version is down to 44€ and it came out yesterday! Pretty crazy.

Installing my Xbox disc now. Was a bit weird that, with the prologue installed I couldn't just pop the disc in and install the rest automatically, I had to go specifically to the game and add-ons section and look for the "ready to install category", there I had the 6 episodes listed, otherwise it could start it and in the game menu it still said "buy this level in the store".

The good thing is, thanks to the free prologue download which includes the H2 general game client, it looks like I will be able to still play everything without the disc. It's just there for the "episode" installation.
So theoretically I could sell it or return it, lol.
So if anyone wants to take advantage, just buy the 20 bucks legacy pack, maybe you own the H1 GOTY Edition already and gets it even for free, get the disc from H2 for a couple of minutes from somewhere, install it, return it and play the whole game.

Pretty weird how they handle this. Hope it doesn't bites them in the ass.

Miami is great! Colombia and Mumbai is baaaad, not Colorado bad but still bad. I hope the two final maps are better.
Nah Colombia and Mumbai are very fun, not as big but they play as good as Sapienza imo. Mumbai took a while to like for me, there's some hidden stuff that is brilliant but it's not easy to find.

Played through 4 new levels in about 5 hours and repeated the very first one a couple of times. Now my dumb ass head wants me to go back to Season 1 maps and unlock everything there before proceeding. The Classics challenges + some opportunities should be enough for eveything, I think.

Ok, you need the disc, playing it without acts like you only have the prologue and GOTY content installed. Smart.

By the way, is it normal that the whole game on Xbox is called "Hitman 2 - Prologue"? It's everywhere, when I play it in my profile, in my achievements, in the social screen.
I mean while playing maybe makes sense cause I use that client but even in the achievement list or official club screen is weird.

I've not played Mumbai yet, but Colombia is better than I was expecting. It combines the layout of Sapienza (town/mansion/lab) with the hostility of Colorado, albeit with more freedom to walk around in your suit. I also like how each area feels distinct and that you can enter 90% of the buildings in the village.

Is there PC thread?

Is anyone playing this on Ryzen? According to DF it runs like shit on Ryzens, which given the fact that I just upgraded to 2700X and my 150 dollar collector's edition of Hitman 2 arrived today, makes me quite an unhappy camper. Can anyone corroborate or disprove it?

An easy way to get a good silenced sniper rifle is to complete the escalation mission in the Marrakesh bonus episode "A House Built on Sand".

Opposition to Mumbai is baffling to me; it's my favorite level from either game at this point (subject to change as I explore more/account for recency bias). It's large, but unlike Miami has a few distinct areas and is clearer about what disguises work where; it never felt overwhelming. It has this wonderful verticality to it, not just with the tower, but with multiple spots that can be effective sniper positions. The three targets and their stories overlap and interact more than any other set of targets I can think of. And it all has this wonderful meta-layer with the laundry and an amateur 47 at work.

While we're here, how would the folks who have played them all rank the levels here? Here's my list so far:
Mumbai
Sgail
Colombia
Miami
Vermont
NZ

I got my first silenced sniper by hitting level 10 on Sgail, I guess I should have looked closer at the old levels...

My rank so far
1 - Colombia: lots of options, never really lost
2 - Mumbai: complexity, options, 3 targets
3 - Sgail: Tough but amazing challenges
4 - Vermont: Fun, but first few times not as good as the old days of poisoned donuts
5 - House: quite like it, just short
6 - Miami: overwhelming building complexity

Overall I firmly enjoy all of them? Miami just seems like it has the steepest slope to truly understand.

I don't get why developers continues to push so much for the more pixels possible on the X when fps really struggle. What's the fucking point. It's 1440 on pro. It's not like 1800p is that shitty res. This and the last TR. Some developers are something else.

Day two and all I did was clean up the ICA Training Facility (again) and Hawke's Bay. Actually showing restraint and not blowing through all the missions. Tomorrow I get to start Miami!

That's weird, it's a bit tough to get at first but once you understand how things are divided it's imo pretty basic
Kronstadt and podium together, then a few tunnels and parkings linking to the other half of the map with the garages and lounges plus the medical area
Mumbai's slums are impossible to know well on the other hand

I can't get the game to reconize Marrakesh in the level selection, store page says its installed and its under the installed on the game folder. But nothing in the actual game, all the other levels for HITMAN 1 are there.

I'm only up to Colombia but I don't like how long it takes to get across the level. So far just feels like 3 separate levels with a lot of travel time between. I much preferred Miami as it was a large level with plenty of shortcuts for getting about. Colombia

I'm still not done with it though (until I get at least an SOSA on it) so my opinion may change yet.

Oh there's a lot of shortcuts believe me. It's pretty well connected.
Only thing I don't like is the construction site is useless outside of one mission story that doesn't work on SASO...

I find these codename-heavy spy stories full of subtext and espionage slang hard to understand at the best of times, but I thought Hitman 2 was going to take the cake for most confusing of all... until I realised I'd accidentally played the fourth mission before the third one. I played the first two levels in offline mode while I waited for the giant patch to download, and then when I came back and was able to connect online the whole UI changed and I guess it threw me off to the point where I started the campaign again from the wrong mission :P

I encountered a hilarious major glitch in Miami. I disguised as an engineer and went to one of those keycard doors. The prompt was suddenly white, indicating I had some way to activate it, when that was not the case before. So I used it to open my inventory, and then every item I had was somehow usable. So I selected a wrench. Then 47 brought out a wrench, held like a card, and slid it through the lock. The door unlocked. Could not replicate after that. It was a door near the sabotage-able car, behind a small wall.

Had an entertaining glitch on Colorado yesterday:

Was waiting for Sean Rose to finish washing his hands out by the explosive test range. His bodyguard usually goes outside and waits by the door, but this time he decided to stop in the doorway and slide straight up through the ceiling to stand on the roof instead.

Is the maelstrom ever gonna show up at the barbershop
He's one of the 15 clients and he has unique dialogue, pretty obvious
There are several easy ways to get to him without having to identify him

That said, I had a small bug where I didn't take him in time when he showed up and then never came back while the other 14 clients always come back if they didn't get their newborn bottom treatment
The 15 clients challenge was damn annoying lol

Have the same "problem". I just can't start with 2 until I played through 1 again in the new client and because I want to unlock some stuff.
If not now, I don't know if I will ever come back to it.

So quick/dumb question. If I unlock an item on a season 1 say a sniper rifle, It would then be available to me on a mission in season 2?

It is. All items on the Legacy missions can be used on any other map.

Thank you so much for letting me know.... Also another question along those lines....

Do I obtain those "unlock items" by leaving the map/completing the objective with the items on my person, or by completing challenges? Got a week off next week with a lot of Hitman in my future!
