They're on team real for the banner, so I dunno about any insider information coming from them.
If Vergeben was right and there are only Ken, Incineroar, and a Square character left that would be truly disappointing.
All this and no views on how insiders found it?

I think the only way to prove the leak wrong, at this point, is an actual direct and not some words from insiders. Even if they wanted to, I doubt they'd risk sources to contradict the leak via image or video. Until then, we have no way to prove the leak false otherwise.
Did Vergeben ever say that those were the only characters left? As far as I recall those are just the ones he knows. I don't think he ever claimed to know the full roster.

I can't remember and I don't pay attention to insiders at all so I'm just going off what people replying to it said, I may be mis-remembering.
It's possible, but turning his simple edit into a wristband thingy as though it were a real piece of promotional material is kind of a long way to go for a simple "fuck Nintendo for selling Rare" gag. You'd think he would have just taken a picture of it on the computer or printed it out onto a standard piece of paper.
It's unfortunate that really no matter what happens - real or fake, this is going to cause some people to be sad knowing "this" (whatever this is) is the final roster. When there's nothing left to show, everyone deflates in hype a little.

I'm for sure going to miss this thread once the game comes out, but I will be so thankful that the speculations are finally over and I can play a game that has a roster of dreams already.
I was thinking about that and the game releasing is kind of horrifying to me. I'll be in a completely different mental state by December 7th.

It's entirely possible when people say that "some parts of the banner are accurate" they're only referring to Ken.
So at this point, do we have any tangible evidence that implies the leak is fake? Or is it just insiders insisting so?
I can happily say I've only spoken directly to one person directly who has given me information (and they've thus far been reliable), but I've also spoken to other people who have similar information and confirmed they're not getting it from the same person. The flip side of this is, to play devil's advocate: who is the source's source for them? Is it verifiably direct (IE do they work on the game, would they be in a position to directly receive this information?) With a lot of effort, just like crafting a fake it'd be so easy to insert 'sources' into different places to create an echo chamber that spreads misinformation.
This is where my previous posts about reporting come in, and how in traditional journalistic areas anybody would want two or more verifiable sources before going to print. They don't just want two sources: you want to make sure you can also verify they have the means to possess the information they do and also that the two sources are independent - ensure that they're not saying the same thing because they both heard it from the same place, which could be incorrect. This is why you haven't seen any really big leak reports on big-name websites about this, and why most of the discourse is just people (be it influencers, media, social media folks, community members or whatever else) shooting the shit on twitter. I don't think anybody has really been able to piece together that sort of water-tight sourcing, so of course people could be being misled. I don't think it's all that likely though, because there's a lot of people from a lot of different areas who seemingly don't know each other singing from the same song sheet.
Well the image is so low quality that isn't it possible he literally pasted an image of Banjo onto an existing printed banner? IIRC no part of Banjo's art in that leak appears to be covered by any other character.

Doubt it. They know that everybody already knows about Ken; they wouldn't even bother pointing it out if Ken was the only thing that matched up.

Also having a seam right next to issac's vines. too many coincidences to be fake & insiders keep contradicting each other. so im still teamreal, but i will admit someone could have edited this to troll people.

Wouldn't the wording then be "there are one specific part of the banner that is accurate" or something like that? "some" implies a number greater than 1 my guess.
Also, talking about Ken, how did that debug photo of him even leaked at all? Since journalists and insiders are being really protective of their sources, it's weird that Ken photo actually made it's way into the internet.
While I'm trying to avoid making any sort of statement on these leaks either way, this kind of pedantry with written word leads to memorymans.
I think the multiple sources are what is causing these unreliable confirmations for these characters. I still feel like one of them was a red herring to draw out somebody to see who is leaking them.

Saying "one character" would obviously be too much of a giveaway and it's clear most people in the know don't wanna divulge too much about what they know.
It's also why I don't particularly buy Ryce's post being evidence that Geno is in. We're not actually sure yet whether or not insiders know for a fact that Geno is our Square Enix rep. The only thing we seem to know for a fact is that Incineroar is missing, but if we're still working off of the assumption that one of the characters is still just known as "Square Enix character", it's still possible that Geno may be nothing but a safe assumption.
Until last week, I was betting on Luigi (although Pac-Man was my pick), so now I'm betting on Mr. G&W and Yoshi.
