Never played Banjo. He's definitely the next best in this bunch of supposed newcomers though. I don't openly resent Banjo. He deserves a spot, IMO. I also don't mind Ken and Shadow. Bit boring for my tastes, and both characters I would suck at, but understandable echoes.
Isaac and Geno are just gratuitous fanservice picks in a cycle that has been already dominated by more deserving gratuitous fanservice picks.
Also, where the fuck is Ms. Pac Man.

Could be another Boxing Ring situation. That was one of the first new stages shown for Smash 4 but Mac wasn't revealed for like another 8 months.
Mach Rider could also get a new arrangement like Ridley and K. Rool did.
It was listed in the other section, but was never clicked on so we don't know if it has it's own emblem or not. Worth noting that the Ice Climber theme is also listed in this section, so it's not a strike against Mach Rider being playable
It's possible that, like other general Nintendo stages such as the Wii Fit stage, the Duck Hunt stage or the various Mii stages, a potential Mach Rider stage draws from the pool of general Nintendo themes, thus not getting its own category. Only Flat Zone got pulled out specifically, probably because Sakurai wants only Flat Zone music to play on it instead of having various Nintendo themes.
That is probably just a warm tint on the image. Cool it down a bit and it'll match the OG colors.

Issac has been a pretty popular fan pick even being up there with Banjo and K Rool which according to this leak are here. If he's just as desired as those 2 why not put him in? I won't disagree on Geno but the other 4 are amazing enough for me to give him a pass especially for the people who would be happy.
Where the fuck is Ms. Pac Man indeed. I suspect it's because Ms. Pac Man had a weird hack job history and wasn't even developed properly. I can't remember the details but Ms.Pac Man was a thrown together thing on top of a hacked Pac Man game. I'll try to find a link for more. I remember Bloodworth of the Easy Allies talking about it sometime.
Annnnywaaaay Shadow and Ken are just too easy of pallette swaps so I get that including them to pad out a roster is almost a no brainier. Which is why I wish Ms.Pacman was there too. But I digress .
I love Genos design and Mario RPG so I'm one of those gratuitous fanboy picks you mentioned lol. But yeah Isaac and him polling well is must giving the fans what they want.
If real, I really hate that it leaked, it would have been nice to see them revealed without expecting it.

Those colors are off. The characters body suit is blue, reddish pinkish boots and shoulder pads, and a white helmet . You can tell in the actual leaked image.
If this ends up being fake and Ken and Incineroar are the only characters we get past this point, people are going to be LIVID.

I'm not really convinced that the lady in white is supposed to be Mach Rider and not just a generic sexy lady for arcade players in the 80s to ogle.
Depending on how he works (is he always a guy on a motorcycle?) I don't think it would be too hard for them to add a set of female alts. It's an old character and no one would complain about the reimagining. I just don't know if it's something he'd think to do - if it would even cross his mind that the lady in white could be interpreted as a Samus moment.

Because it's a wristband and not just some random piece of paper on a desk. Just more detail being piled on to the already massive stack of evidence towards this being real.
I don't think Isaac has ever touched K. Rool's massive popularity. Hell I didn't even like K.Rool because Rare design is garbo, but it's hard to deny the crashing waves of that fandom. Credit to Sakurai's band for making K.Rool kinda cool despite his ugly ass origins though.
Isaac to me is suuuuper meh, but at least he's better than Geno.

Possibly Dixie. If she was cut she was probably going to be a Semi. Then again the idea of them getting rights for a Third Party and not finishing the character is weird but also Monster Hunter

Monster Hunter most definitely will be top of the line for DLC if that 4chan leak with the cuts is right. Because MonHun was getting worked on, meaning there's already a base to go from, and it's MonHun. People would go crazy over it.
