Considering that the game began production nearly a decade ago and the gameplay and design of BoTW wasnt revealed till 2016, I doubt it was much of an influence, if any at all. If anything, it sounds like the open world game that has had the most influence is...Shenmue (and by extension the 2011/2012 revival of the immersive sim genre with Dishonored and Deus Ex)
I mentioned breath of the wild West a a couple dozen pages ago and was met with the same response.

Yea, sure, that's all good. I loved Breath of the Wild, I have zero doubts that I'll love Red Dead 2. Goddamn it's a good time to be an open world lover.

I am buying the game. Many people worked hard on this and they will get additional compensation depending on how well the game does. What I hope will happen is that Rockstar (and any other studio that crunches a lot) will get called out continuously by the press, on social media, and the people who work at these studios and that this will lead to better working conditions and unions for developers.

No, I feel fairly guilty as it is. The problem of terrible labour practices is much wider than R* though and we're all complicit. Hell, the consoles we use to play games and the computers we use to moan about them are very likely to have parts sourced from places that use child to—- oh. It's greenrock.
They have every right to do so.
I wonder how many more alts our dear greenrock will have until the game is released. About 4 sounds alright.
Last thing I'm gonna do is deny myself a wonderful experience because of America's fucked-up labor laws.

Is this a joke? Do you own a smartphone, laptop, or console? If so, do you feel guilty for buying those? People literally jumping off of buildings because the working conditions there suck. The whole R* 100 hour bullshit thing has been elaborated on by Houser anyway. He said not one person was forced to stay longer than their normal scheduled hours.
