Schumer sucks. But also whatever, you aren't stopping GOP Admin-Senate from nominating and appointing judges ultimately.

As with most of these fights - you lost that fight in Nov 2016 if not before.

What WWC support in Michigan, Wisconsin & PA? Trump can barely crack 40% approval in those states.

Imagining if Turkey releases the evidence of Khashoggi's murder. International firestorm.

Trump is not going to do a thing though. Which is going to be really sad.

I suspect they won't because it will burn their methods of spying, unless things get absolutely out of hand. They will use the threat of disclosure, or reveal it to friendly governments, instead.

This is good but it annoys me when turnout is compared to the worst Democratic midterm turnout of all time. Like, it's not saying that much.

Nate is right on the money here.

Technical comment, but people aren't paying enough attention to the *volume* of polling in a particular state or district. Having 1 or 2 bad polls is a lot different than having several of them, especially if (as is often the case with House polls) the sample sizes are small.

e.g. in ND-SEN, only two firms have polled the race since Labor Day. They both have really bad numbers for Heitkamp. But it's not a lot of polling, and earlier polls had shown a more competitive race. That's why our model classifies it as "lean R" rather than likely or safe R.

Has Upshot expanded its sample size to 800 for House polls, too? They used to publish results at N=150; now it's N=250.

Also these Upshot/Siena polls are like the only ones being done for a lot of these House districts

NYT reporter saying the Turkish account of what happened in the Saudi consulate (the gruesome torture, death, and...well...etc.) is gaining credibility in Washington (not the white house of course, but the agencies and perhaps congress).

Always fun to see which stories gain traction and which don't - who would've guessed the NYT tax fraud story would keep stalling (for now), while a Saudi journalist murder would blow up (not discounting its seriousness)?

Republican attack ads in Oklahoma governors race are going after edmonson for wanting to raise taxes in a state with a billion dollar deficit. Then they spent the rest of the ad showing pictures of hillary and pelosi.

Trump won't do anything to the Saudis. There's zero reason for him to personally care about the situation, and for him to actually take action on something you have to give him a reason to be interested. With the Saudis pouring billions in for weapons and millions into Trump properties, he's fine with whatever. "Just some journalist" will be said at some point.

Why would he do anything when they let him touch the GLOBE ORB!

ridiculous. Do they want Oklahoma to be be in deficit hell and dead broke forever? There is no choice at this point but to raise taxes. It's that dire.

How sad is it that I completely forgot that this happened?
Remember when Trump revealed classified information from the Israeli government to the Russians...?

or when he asked Dan Coates and Admiral Rodgers to Push back against the FBI?

or Don Jrs Twitter DMs of "I love it!" and HE VOLUNTARILY TOLD ON HIMSELF.

or Sean Spicer resigning?

or Trump trying to ban transgender people from serving in the military?

They're gonna get a random race right on the money and someone somewhere will start hailing them as the new pollster gods. That's just how these things work.

You're right, unfortunately. If Saudis get away with this, what's stopping them from carrying out more hitjobs on international soil? Who will they target next? Bloggers? YouTubers? Suddenly the world seems a lot more scary place.
