im gaining fat. I've been out of the gym for a month because I started dating someone so I'm busy after work and also was sick for a week.

Most of my pants don't fit now. But I REFUSE to buy new pants. And I love potato chips. I should stop eating. Get back to using MyFitnessPal.

Sis, honestly all that McDonald's you eat isn't helping either. Cut that out for a month and go to the gym at least 3 times a week, you will see a difference.

Inspiration doesn't work in the long term. You've gotta think about your life and build new, healthy habits. Eating clean shouldn't be an effort, it's your new life now.

The thread title has been me the last few years and finally something clicked so I am putting stuff into motion actually lose weight. Maybe a weight loss OT to share support and progress for users would be a good idea?

Start small.

Love potato chips? Lower the amount that you eat each time. Replace them with something else eventually.

As someone who has always struggled with his weight but is on the right path, my motivation is eventually getting all of the energy that I need to take care of my family. As of right now, I get easily exhausted and I wish that was not the case.

So far, I have quit coffee cold turkey and replaced all the coffee that I used to drink with water. I steer away from soda/juice: if I do drink that stuff, I save it for the weekends.

It takes time but it is so worth it: I've lost 45 lbs so far in the span of 9 months and that is without even incorporating any workouts.

You don't need to be fat (aka unhealthy) to be funny, and there's plenty of people. You can make excuses for yourself, but hopefully OP just gets to work and back to his old self or better.

Some people are fat because of legit reasons (most are not but still). All in all, as long as a person is relatively healthy and happy who fucking cares what weight they are, not my or your problem to be honest.

My doctors say carrying excess fat is unhealthy and I'm unhappy about it so please make my fat your problem tbh

Calory deficit!

Diets don't really work at all... Just make sure to watch out for sugars and processed foods, count calories and be at a deficit, but start small and go from there. That's what I've been doing and it has worked well. It took about over 6 months to be where I am though I was only "considered" overweight because of BMI but body fat percentage has gone down (from 16% to about 13-14%) and I can feel the difference.
