I thought it was supposed to be a play on "Expo" with XO
I thought it was supposed to be a play on "Expo" with XO
For the most part...with KB/M coming to XBO...that most likely will happen now...It's basically already happened outside of Gears Tactics/Pop. That's the only issue because of mobile.Dream Announcement: Xbox Play Anywhere for all First Party XO games.
I'm glad competition is hyping up now! GG MS!
gaspsI want a new IP announced, please if Fable is shown please don't let it have the same crappy art style again !
This is my wish for E3 2018 if they had it - Showing a car going into a dark tunnel and then it would change to an overworld view of Albion and slowly zoom up to a Demon Door. The Demon Door would then say"Your journey is just beginning, Hero!" or something. From there it would show Fable and "In Development At Playground Games".All I want from Fable is the trailer to start like Horizon 4 with cars and then it pans to a small house as time flows along and someone comes out and then Fable begins.

Yakuza?PS- MS announces a couple more Japanese games coming to Xbox One..and hopefully we get to see Panos Panay.
It is very possible we get to see a few Japanese games announced. Phil knows fans have been asking for a PSX like event and he wouldn't be announcing the return of XO now without having some major bombs to drop, remember he mentioned surprise announcements form 1st and 3rd party devs so I think it will be an amazing event for Xbox fans...Yakuza?
There's others of course, but I have to ask, do you think we'll see the fruits of Phil's trip to Japan at TGS? I think Yakuza is already a given based on what we heard about Microsoft approaching them about it and how the Director wants to put it on the Xbox (articles from E3, right?). The question is things like Persona and Dragon Quest which are both Playstation-centric. I think if those come to the Xbox that alone can speak wonders for their Japanese support.
They need to focus most of their time on first-party (acquisitions, game announcements and gameplay), and then Japanese support, and then ports whether they be PC or just never came to the Xbox One but did the other consoles (Japanese game ports would of course tie into Japanese support). I don't think their services are as important (because they're leading in that imo), but I hope they do announce something regarding Gold and MP. Certain games will never come to Xbox if they never change that (like FFXIV), so they need to at least make sub games free and F2P MP games free. People may disagree with me, but I feel Phil is the person that would get rid of that, especially since it can get in the way for those wanting cross-play and not realizing Gold is needed.
I think it's too late and busy in the year for a price drop announcement, the time to drop is in the quiet period, late Summer. Sales are high in Sept/Oct and they'll alienate their customers who have bought in that period. How much of a chance is there that the Xbox one x will get a significant price drop at this conference ? I'm considering getting an x for red dead redemption but would wait if the x gets a price drop.
Correction: she's founder and GM of Motive Studios, a subsidiary of EA based in Montreal. For those wondering about Jade Raymond, she works at Visceral now.
I don't think it's been confirmed there's no PSX 18, but even if there is this will still make a splash as long as there are worthwhile announcements and updates on games. All eyes will be on Xbox that week instead of sharing the spotlight with Sony and Nintendo. It will be like Gamescom '15.With no PSX this year, Microsoft has an opportunity to make an impact so im hoping for at the very least, a good solid show with maybe a surprise or two as well as release dates for Ashen and Below.

Oh, didn't see that.
Totally see a lot of typical PSX announcements here.
For example Project Judge has no mention of any kind of exclusivity.
True but it releases in December in Japan so it would be very weird to announce a Western release on Xbox One when there's no Japanese version?

It's very common for a publisher not to announce a Japan version for Xbox One then announce a Western version.True but it releases in December in Japan so it would be very weird to announce a Western release on Xbox One when there's no Japanese version?
Besides the PS4 version released a few days ago, Japan will also get a Switch version in the summer. The western release will launch this Fall on PS4, Xbox One and Switch simultaneously.
Oh, Jeez! Grand Theft Auto IV's exapnsion exclusively to Xbox 360. That was SOMETHING HUGE! *.*
So shame they didn't keep them forever :(
And so shame that Microsoft and R* didn't have any more partnerships together again. They could gain something for sure now, with Red Dead Redemption II marketing and advertising this game with Xbox One X.
Exclusive expansions and dlc is stupid. That was a straight money hat back then and I'd rather they don't repeat stuff like that again.
From what I recall, Microsoft outright paid for the development of both those expansions, and Rockstar had to pay them back from the money they made from sales. I'm normally against third party deals, but that kind of arrangement is fine in my book, and in the end everyone got the content.
Panos is great and they should make him more visible
Yeah this "you should be ashamed of yourself for wishing for buyouts you corporate fanboy warrior" narrative is misplayed.
Buyouts, on the surface, aren't either good or bad for gamers and developers. They can work out either way. If Microsoft stays this course for awhile, buyouts should be win/win. These ecosystems are going to get increasingly more accessible and with backwards/forwards compatibility and streaming a few more years down the line, most gaming enthusiasts will have access to all ecosystems.
An environment which gives these current Indie developers bigger budgets with creative freedom on a platform (Game Pass) that exposes their games to more people than if they remained multiplat in a traditional model is good all around.
Whos is Panos Panay and why are people excited with him? He seems to be a key figure for Surface, but don't know how could that translate to a great X0 event unless they announce Play Anywhere for surface devices
he went from top dog of Surface, to top dog of all hardware and devices.
(influence can be seen in the 1s and 1x)
But Scarlett will be a full fledged from the ground up Panos led project, so Im super hyped to see that, plus his presentations are hilarious and awesome. Hes got this swagger on stage that is mesmerizing lol.
Even though the X1 was a largely unappealing console I'm looking forward to MS's next gen, hope they can win me over for the next box.
He lead one of the best HW design team in the world (right now the best one imo) ...every product coming out from his team is something special on design standpoint, performance and innovation...from the surface go to the surface studio ...till the Xbox one X (but also the S if wasn't for the esram)Whos is Panos Panay and why are people excited with him? He seems to be a key figure for Surface, but don't know how could that translate to a great X0 event unless they announce Play Anywhere for surface devices
Yeah the X018 name doesn't make sense, should be X18 in 2018 since it was called X05 in 2005, previously they just swapped out the 20 in 2005 with an X, today they're swapping out the 2 in 2018 with an X. Semantics I know but it triggers my OCD. :P
Take Two had cash flow issues at that time and Microsoft loaned them the entire development funds for the expansions. If that was the case then I guess it would be ok. I thought it was an outright moneyhat.
