LOL Welp there goes the rest of Sony's sales estimation for the fiscal year. Whatever PS4 doesn't sell, PS Classic will pick up.

Wow what a great, innovative idea.

Nintendo fans really need to stop acting now like Nintendo Classic was a revolutionary idea. Atari, Colecovision, etc. had been making Plug and Play boxes full of games for years. Nintendo was just the first of the Big 3 to do it.

Did a mod lock the thread because they thought it was a joke at first?
Anyway, one of the only old game series that I want to play is Metal Gear Solid, so I hope it's on there
I'd also like to try the OG Tomb Raider plz
EDIT: OH AND SYPHON FILTER AS WELL

The emulation on here better be better quality than the PS Classics.

And judging by recent efforts I doubt it will be.
This. Sony does not get the benefit of the doubt on this front the way Nintendo does. I need reviews and previews of how these games even run on top of needing the list of the other games before I even consider trying to buy one of these.

I rather just get a Bluetooth Dualshock 1 release. Same with N64, just give me those sweet 1st party controllers.

Man, I'm a sucker for these things but I'm having a hard time visualizing a way to keep everything hooked up and looking neat.

I'm moving into a new place in December, and will have a TV room with a nice 5.1 speaker setup and a decent TV. So far, the things I figure I'll be permanently hooking up to my AVR are:

- Cable box
- Xbox One X
- PlayStation 4 Pro
- Nintendo Switch
- Apple TV (laptop / phone / tablet mirroring)
- Nvidia Shield (Kodi / Plex direct-play h265 10bit HDR 4K files)

That's 6 HDMI devices, and the AVR I want to pick up (Denon AVR-x4400H) only has 7 rear inputs if I recall correctly.

That leaves me with: NES Classic, SNES Classic, PlayStation Classic, and potentially more (N64? PS2? GameCube?) down the line to deal with. My main concerns are:

- HDMI mess. I guess I could use an HDMI Switch connected to the last remaining HDMI input and hope I don't end up in handshake hell.

- Cable management hell. Wired controllers in 2018 - why why why why why. There's just no way to keep a room neat if there's all these wired controllers to keep around.

I know I could just keep them away and only plug them in when I actually feel like playing, but I feel that defeats more than half the purpose. The vast majority of the games on these Classic consoles are available on other platforms. The big bonus with the Classics is the old-school "turn on and play" with little to no delay or fancy menus to navigate. But if I have to open a drawer and start plugging controllers and power and HDMI every time I wanna use them, then that convenience is gone.

Anybody else on a similar boat?

I guess this explains why they still refuse to put PS1 support on PS4. Why do that when they can sell us a whole separate suite of titles.

To be expected after the success of the Nintendo Classic consoles. Copying is the sincerest form of flattery they say.

I'll wait for the game list before I make up my mind. There is a ton of oringal PlayStation games I never played thatg I would like to. Hopefully it isn't too expensive or have limited availability in Australia.

Cool,
The nostalgia market is a proven market and their are a lot of fans.
This is going to dominate Black Friday in Europe.
Edit : just noticed it's after Black Friday, such a wasted opportunity

It'd be awkward if Nintendo announced an N64 classic for this year cause I feel like this'd kind of steal its thunder.

I agree that complete backwards compatibility is the ideal. Hopefully that's the case with PS5.

So no AC adapter, but a USB cable is included? Do you just need a plug converter to plug the console in? If not then what is the USB cable for?

Give me a Dreamcast Classic Sega.

How feasible would it be for Phantasy Star Online to be included with online play? Because holy shit would that be amazing.

At least 2 threads were started seconds apart, maybe locked one and then merged them all

This is going to be the largest thread I've ever started by far lol

If I get one, it will just be kept in the box and displayed on the shelf like my NES Classic. I don't see a point in playing on it if you still have a PSP/Vita/PSTV/PS3

LOL! And People were expecting N64 classic…

Is the gamepad connector the same as the original one?

Anyway while pixels might still look good today, I don't know if the first 3D games hold up well nowadays. But well, this is totally towards nostalgia buyers, so probably I'll end up buying it.
