I dunno. I grew up listening to Straight Outta Compton and Eazy-Duz-It on my Walkman, but I think Niggaz4life is the epitome of the era. It was the start of the transition to The Chronic and Doggystyle.

Before the transition, No One Can Do It Better and Livin' Like Hustlers were Dr. Dre to perfection.

If we're talking the most influential/important it's either Chronic or Straight Outta Compton no question.

Personally, I'd say GKMC is the best. It's one of my favorite albums of any genre.

As dope as TPAB is, these albums felt very West Coast not only in their style but lyrics and basically everyday life of the West. GKMC was way more of a West Coast album than TPAB.

This...id personally add G Funk but it's really between these two.

it's in the DNA of everything that has come since. It changed everything for west coast rap.

Straight Outta Compton has got to be up there for sure.

Chronic wouldn't be a bad choice either.

Well, are you asking most influential, most successful?

If it's just 'best', I might be tempted to say O.S.T.

If you're just asking about 'big albums' I'd say All Eyez on Me

Don't think The Chronic holds up personally. It's kinda petty and catty, with some homophobic lines.

I'd go for the safe answer of Good Kid Maad city to be honest. That album is just so replayable, well-crafted, ambitious, yet controlled and kinda concise.
