I think that is the best this game has looked. Hopefully they get on top of the performance issues that people talked about pre E3.

Wait this is releasing alongside of Metro Exodus????? Lmfao

You should be fearing for Metro. Out of the 3 games launching on feb 22, that one is the most likely to commercially bomb.

Despite Era's grudge against this game all metrics for Days Gone have it tracking to be pretty successful. Maybe not spiderman/gow successful, but enough to pull out ~5 million in the first few months probably.

I mean, Horizon had the crutch of "robot dinosaurs" which is pretty fucking cool.

Days Gone doesn't really have much going for it in terms of "wow factor".
My god do some of you live in a bubble, lessons are never learned here at all.

Also the wow factor as pointing out by many previews are the hordes which are fun to take down going by them.

Yes this was well established when battlefront didn't bomb, ghost recon didn't bomb, the division didn't bomb, horizon didn't bomb, the list is embarrassingly long I'm not even gonna continue

Fair enough.

Personally speaking, there isn't much going on in Days Gone that "wows me".

I'm not even excited about this at all but it doesn't really look bad. Looks like I'd have a good time if it weren't for anthem releasing.

It's a fun game for people to hate. People here are underestimating it but it'll do fine. I guess when people line up the third person narrative action games from Sony next to each other they just decide this is the worst one for some reason.

Apologies if this has been covered to death, but do we have a ton of info on moment to moment gameplay? A lot of the pre-release focus seems to be on narrative, which leads me to believe it will be more linear, but if this is open world zombies, then I'm all about it. If it's more linear, I'll still definitely check it out, but severely less interested. Already have Last of Us to give me my story focused linear post-apocalypse.

Its open world with a day and night cycle and dynamic weather as well

Zombie bears seem cool.

It seems like a tower defence / hoard mode would be inevitable for this game

The game looks good and the mecanics are very interesting but the only thing that I don't like is the the weapons, they sound strange and I feel they lack impact. I hope they work a little bit more to improve that.

This game has all the ingredients but still something feels off.

Needs more polish.

I don't know how can they not capture a epic moment in trailers till now with such great concept.

Needs better showings before release.

Nothing about this game has really caught my interest - I think Bend made a mistake of making this a single player only title. They could have differentiated themselves a little bit more from First Party Studios by having this be co-op

This game went from being shown as the big final trailer at E3 to not even being mentioned at the last E3, I fear that the game is not in the best of shapes and sony is quietly shoving it under the rug.

They had a full month of coverage on the game before E3, with lots of gameplay and info and even a launch date announcement trailer dont know what you are talking about.

The game had sevreal streams at E3 as well and several new previews and interviews.

don't you think that it's a little strange that at the e3 where sony specifically dedicated all the time of its main stage to AAA exclusives that day's gone not only didn't even get a trailer shown on stage, it wasn't even MENTIONED, for comparison a new franchise like spider man was present at every single e3 main stage since it was announced. Sony deciding that days gone is not worthy of its main stage anymore is really telling, i don't know how you can't see that.

Looks like it could be a lot of fun and that amount of zombies on screen should lead to some epic moments.

Commercially think this will do well. It's another third person action adventure that Sony has on lock, pair that with zombies and a very loyal customer base and it should hit it's targets.

Can't wait, 2018 is ending with a bang and 2019 will start with one. Super excited for this, I crave for some open world zombie games and this seems like it'll help a lil. Still salty GTA V didn't have an Undead Nightmare like expansion.

I really want Sony Bend to become one of Sony's top tier first party studios... I really do. And I really hope this game does well.

But man... something about it is just not clicking. Based on everything I've seen so far, this game looks like a very strong 70s contender. Again... yes I'm giving it a score way before the game's release but that's what I'm mostly predicting from all that we've seen.

I just hope I'm wrong.

People shouldn't look at this game as a GOTY contender, at the same time there is nothing wrong if it isnt, being down on it because it isn't the same quality as the top Sony studios is silly, I see the game doing 3-4 million which should be profitable.

Looking better every time we get a look at it. Hopefully it all comes together to make something special in the end.

Yeah, you can tell it needs more polish, but they seem to have a really good core there. It just needs another 6 months, which is about what they have. Open world games tend to come together more toward the end it seems like. I hope so anyway.

I'm not as excited as I was when I first saw it but I think that's because all I've ever seen, aside from one mission in an enemy camp, is the player vs hundreds of zombies. If they can fill out a bit more detail through videos about what else you do then that might pique my interest again. Fingers crossed for the team though as they've made some great games in the past.

When the focus of their E3 presentation was "gameplay reveals", not really? They put the game on the cover of Game Informer, which is probably a bigger, more far reaching platform than an E3 presentation, literally one month before. That doesn't really jive with your false "they are sending it out to die" narrative.

days gone was still a good way off compared to spiderman which was releasing a few months later. and days gone had already been shown at plenty of conferences prior, including 2 extended gameplay sessions. the last thing sony want is another no mans sky situation where it appears at every single conference showing similar things and never getting any closer to release.

last of us 2 is getting to that point too. they've had multiple cinematic trailers and an extended gameplay demo. i'd be surprised if we see it again until it's much closer to release. maybe one more gameplay demo at E3 next year with a fall 2019 release date?

i imagine we'll be seeing plenty of days gone at PSX this year though since it's going to be releasing a few months after the fact. it will help boost awareness again and we'll be seeing it in a much more finished, presentable state. which is ultimately why i think they went for the gameinformer approach over E3. it lets them demo the game more fully, without the restrictions of stage time or requiring a section of game that's highly polished and ready for public showing and it also gives them the opportunity to explain exactly what the game is, and the functionality within it concerning the horde, the bike, the towns, the crafting, the narrative...you can't do that in 10 minutes live on stage. and as i said, they already tried...twice.

On an unrelated note, what's with these trailer channels? I've seen a lot of trailer and gameplay videos posted that aren't from the official channels. How are these personal channels getting this much more attention than the official ones? I get that sometimes gamespot for example, goes to some conference and post videos about it but I'm not talking about those.

I'm saying this because most of the time these second hand videos are much lower quality both video and audio-wise, most likely it's downloaded and re-uploaded.

If it does 5m LTD, it would be a fantastic result for this studio.
