If y'all can, try to donate to Justin Nelson too https://www.nelsonfortexas.com

Our current AG Ken Paxton is as corrupt as it gets. He's actually been indicted. He's also leading the charge to get DACA eliminated. Just an all around horrible person. Nelson will immediately remove TX from the DACA lawsuit if he becomes AG. He also wants to get rid of gerrymandering in TX.

Just an FYI for those who may have missed it. This was Betos response to NFL players taking a knee that got him nation and worldwide notoriety

Yes I live in Texas and sure as shit I'm voting for Beto

Perfect answer, but why the fuck does this video need sappy music in the background?

"I don't know if what he's saying is the right thing. Oh, wait, that music. Guess he is."

It's just so manipulative. His words are not enough, you have to tell people what to feel.
Yeah. Shortcut to emotional impact. People remember emotional reactions more than objective information.

It's why politicians use pump-up slogans and anecdotes. Bypass the time it would take to influence everyone on an individual basis with logic or tactile solutions and go straight to the feelings with a well placed background track, memorable rhyme, or facial expression.

It's humanity's easiest exploitable weakness. The vast majority of people aren't immune, and that's something every influencer of large numbers of people keeps in mind.

Yeah I hate shit like that. It's intended to manipulate people into thinking better of whatever they're watching. What he said was already good enough, take out the music.

Hey all,

I'm going to a Beto Townhall in my town today, just moved to Texas in July so I'm looking forward to it.

Anyone have any questions they want asked that they haven't heard already? I'll try to get some of them in.

Sure but when the fuck did Mulvaney become an election handicapper?

The optimistic read would be that he's sat in on White House meetings where they've looked over their internal polls, and they're worried about Cruz.

Also, they're doing a Spoon concert for Beto in Dallas and I'm worried that by targeting me so specifically, they may be neglecting the needs of the median voter.

He can totally do this. I've seen so many Beto for senate signs in my city that it's crazy. Comparatively I've seen maybe 2 Cruz ones

You have a point, but at the same time, think of the people who are sold but are traditionally cynical about voting in Texas and need convincing/reminding that they absolutely do need to get out to the polls.

Beto needs people like you to go out and covert the median voter (neighbors, coworkers, family)

The large urban centers (Dallas, Houston, Austin, SA) are predominantly democrat already.... its the 90% of the rest of the state you have to worry about

Tarrant County is a large urban center that is still bright red. Beto has got to perform really well there.

Yep. Houston, for example, hasn't elected a republican as mayor since the early 80s.

I saw The Polyphonic Spree once and it was one of the worst live shows I've ever been to in my life.
I'm jumping on the mime bandwaggon.

I drove around the rich neighborhoods here in San Antonio and I saw a few Beto signs and zero Cruz signs.

I did the same thing last week in Austin and the place is covered in Beto signs.

I am still amazed that even with the R by his name people still vote for Cruz. Why no one else in the republican primary the first time he was elected??

Come on Texas! If I could vote in Texas, I woud drive over there just for election day. That's how much Cruz disgusts me.

Beto can win this, but it all is going to come down to voter turnout out.

Beto's going to need to perform really well in those bright red districts for him to have a shot. I don't know if he can do it, even in a blue wave year and Cruz's unlikabiliy. I think Beto's going to have to rely on enough GOP voters staying home. That is what doomed Roy Moore (and even then it was a squeaker).

So apparently all of us voting for Beto want to "turn Texas into California" with "tofu and people with dyed hair."

https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/09/politics/ted-cruz-texas/index.html

Because everyone knows there aren't people with dyed hair or vegetarians in Texas already...nope, don't exist!

God, Republicans are so out of touch and paranoid about anyone acting slightly different than their culture warrior cabals.

To this day, I still don't understand the issue with dyed hair. I love me some colors.
