Drops in God of War have me spooked. No offense to JStevenson but I'm more of a "Show me don't tell me" type of person when it comes to devs speaking on quality of their game's performance and visuals between versions or models.
You had drops in God of War? I've put over a hundred hours into the game on a base and very, very rarely did the framerate stutter, only in certain conditions against a bunch of enemies and using certain attacks, basically when the screen is full of crazy stuff going on, but again, was like a few dropped frames for a couple seconds on like only 3 or 4 occasions out of all the hours I spent with the game, performance was solid. It was the same with Horizon, another showcase title in terms of graphics which are insane yet the performance on a standard is pretty much a rock solid 30. I wouldn't worry too much about performance issues.

They were pretty common for me in hectic areas. Assuming Spider-Man has no drops, would my 1440p monitor benefit from the Pro's resolution enough to be worth?

Ah, never personally experienced drops nearly enough for them to be common , it's one of the reasons I never upgraded to a PRO, thought I'd rather not spend the money when the standard is doing fine.
Since I don't own a Pro yet and play on a standard 32" TV I can't really comment on whether the Pro would suit your monitor, but I would think out of the two the Pro would be the better option as it runs games higher than 1080, but I'm not sure, haven't used an actual monitor in years, I use my TV for everything including my PC.

I'd think you'd be very happy with an upgrade to the Pro Sunhi. I upgraded last year and bought a 4K TV and I'm so glad I did. Playing games like Horizon, God of War, etc. in 4K HDR blew me away.

I have played on a PRO and in 4K with HDR it is stunning, but like I said, since I'm not looking at upgrading my TV anytime soon I never made the purchase, but I'll be getting one soon anyway. :)

It's still coming, shouldn't be long now. :D

will say that one thing that I don't like about that free roam gameplay is the gold objective indicator on the screen. just leave it on the mini-map!

You use a Bravia 32? 40 or 32 looks really good with base ps4. I still impressed with ps4 holding up with modern games. I almost get a ps4pro when my brother travel to New York, but its so expansive even for us. Still UC4 and HZD on base ps4 make me sad because people keep make joke about if base ps4 could run or not.
Today even with a 4K Samsung TV I don't have much interess of buying a ps4pro anymore. Just trade my awful dualshock 4 with some serious analog problems. And ps5 looks really soon to be real or mention.
Ps4 slim for love.

Me too. Cory give him a pro.

Hell, even on Performance mode it felt GREAT.

Runs around the mid-50s most of the time, with the only noticeable drops into the 40s for me being when I'm walking in the big bridge to Tyr's Temple. Never even noticed any fluctuations during combat.

Wouldn't they be about the same? 30fps on Pro, and it's not like he's making 4K gifs anyways.

Yeah, that's true. He probably could if he wanted to, but I don't think I know of any capture cards that capture footage at 4k, otherwise they're really expensive.

Do I want the deluxe version or not? I can not decide.

Edit: I need a break from No Mans Sky, so I am all in here. Just need to know which to buy....

Ugh, Best Buy wouldn't let me put more money down on my pre-order because they'd have to cancel it and redo it, knocking me out of the queue or some such. That means unloading on the CE on release day... NOOOO!

I admit I haven't been up to date on the latest previews and stuff, but I was thinking about whether I'm really in the mood for an open world game by Sept 7 and surprisingly found myself thinking "no".

Are there videos that highlight the innovations of the game? I realized I dunno that cool traversal and combat is enough to carry a 40/50 hour open-world game for me anymore, whereas I would've eaten that shit up last gen (I loved the inFamous series). Are there cool new open-world systems at play or some exploration elements? Basically anything to get me excited to play the game other than cool traversal and combat.

Just wondering, not sure if it's been addressed already but has there been an update with regards to HUD options? More specifically the option to hide it completely, I know the game's been leaked and that reviewers have their copies, but since I don't really want to check in case of spoilers I was wondering if anyone has gone over the options in the game. It's not a deal breaker or anything, game looks amazing, it's just a pain trying to crop out HUD elements when making GIFs XD, plus the immersion while swinging around the city.

Just gotta wonder why John Paesano though? Not that he's terrible, but his ME: Andromeda score wasn't particularly confidence inspiring. Was he the first choice and on the strength of what?

TheGamer2323 needs to get a Spiderman Pro and do an unboxing. Absolutely ridiculous and hilarious all in one, and his laugh = pigs dying. Add the fact that he's a massive Spiderman stan, that video would be glorious.

I think he's saying that the person that beat it in 12 hours did zero side quests and skipped cutscenes, not the playtesters.
Ah. Well, must've been someone just trying to beat the game ASAP... just to be able to say that they did? Or to see how long it takes to do all the story missions, I suppose.

I don't get ethier. The person that got his copy early to play, skipped all cutscenes and side content?

Why would he do that?
I imagine literally so he could tell people he beat it in 12 hours

Or maybe isn't a Spidey fan. Who knows. I'll be milking this game for all it's worth.
