I've seen it evolve from skinny (late 70s /80s) to baggy (90s/00s) and now back to skinny. I'm pretty sure in a year or 10 we'll be back to baggy and you will look like a damn fool if you are still wearing skinny.

When I was in Japan, it looked like the 90s a bit. Everyone had denim and people, especially girls, were wearing baggy clothes.

I don't wear tight clothing still and never will. I buy my shirts a size up from what I am, and make sure my jeans are pretty baggy. But I mostly wear shorts

If you wear clothes that fit it's pretty comfortable. You don't have to wear baggy clothes for comfort. It's weird to hear so many people here say that.

I imagine it's an attempt to hide weight coupled with a sense of fashion that hasn't moved on from the 80s, when big suits were what people wore. One amplifies the other.
Ya, due to that trend, I legitimately thought I was a large into the early '00s, when someone kindly informed me I was a medium.
Those suits with gigantic shoulder pads were an abomination, humanity did good getting rid of that shit. Skinny jeans is where we went wrong.

That didn't pop out of thin air. If famous rappers hadn't worn these brands in over sizes in the years before, none of these design houses would have gotten the inspiration.
