Shock humor for the sake of it will be less common but honestly outside of the Internet it already was. But dark humor has always been around and always will. It needs to be done right to be effective, and that certain group of people you see in these threads will never find it funny, but it'll be there.

As an aside, I see a lot of people missing what about shock humor is actually supposed to be about. The people making jokes about, say, child rape don't think child rape is funny. The fact that it's absolutely despicable and unfunny is part of the joke. If it wasn't actually unquestionably terrible it wouldn't shock people, nor would the surprise (which all humor relies on) be as strong.

This is the most ERA OP to have ever have happened.
You didn't see the guy who had a panic attack because Trump was president

Because you didn't mention the good/bad dichotomy (which you said is your point) as you did in later posts, it came across to me as if you were solely disputing his point that context matters (which it does, it affects the joke and reception to it, which in turn affects whether it is perceived as good or bad).

It's all good, I getcha now.

Yeah english is not my native language lol.

As a boy grown up in the 70's with splatter movies at dinner and free porn after midnight I can say the party is over since a very long time now

No, and it hasn't really been affected. Dark comedy is simply stuff that takes an unflinching view at the depressing parts of life and/or has very macabre/difficult-to-deal-with themes. For example, this is dark comedy:

Mitchell & Webb are so damn good at dark comedy. This is one of my favourites, the punchline hits like a brick:

It is the natural lifecycle of comedy. As values change certain things stop being funny. *See: jokes around gay people, transgender people and AIDS
This is kind of wrong. Comics will still be making fun of gay people, AIDS and whatever group of people that are on this planet. The more gays get included in every branch of social interaction the more "normal" it becomes to laugh with them about their quirks etc.

Chappel and Jim Jeffry specials made fun of these things. And in the subtext of their show it worked and is simply comedy and not an attack on them.

Breaking Bad is full of dark humour and was super popular, same with rick and morty and south park etc. You just have to actually be funny unlike those james guns tweets which weren't dark humour just stupid
