No clue whether or not people have gotten any spoilers regardless, but it's now floating around the Internet playable on any hacked console, be careful guys :)
I'm furious because someone could leak the story, but also curious to see if someone can answer some of the questions there are on the Octopath preview thread lol
Was going to say this, it's not really surprisingThe release is in two days. Anyone who was willing enough to get it already have the game.
Literally bothLeaked as in hacked or leaked like break street date leaked like every major release here?

Well, not really. Sure, some games get released early to select areas, but this is the first major release since the Switch was easy to hack and any rube can download and run fairly easily.
Spoilers will probably more prevalent than usual, so well worth a warning.
Has the hacking scene now progressed that any backup is playable on any hacked Switch? Wasn't it before that you could only play your own backups?
Source is the piracy boards themselves.
Yes and since a few weeks
Bridge two pins in the right joycon connector, hold some buttons, fire a payload over USB from a PC/Phone/Dedicated adaptor and then either mess with some directories or buy the commercial loader with some isos on your SD Card and you're done :/
Who said that? But I was told that hacking was not going to be used for illegitimate things
My copy actually arrived in the post this morning so I imagine there'd be spoilers out there anyway regardless of leaks.
I cant find anything about this with a google search, mind pointing me in the right direction?
The scene is relatively small and Nintendo's banning certs that are duplicated, which will obviously be the case here.

For the most part that's still gonna be a relatively low amount of people doing that to the game.Which doesn't matter as long as people use it as an offline console like most do though.

If most did, we'd not have seen a massive and on going banning spree. These meticulous offline pirates do not exist, and they now have a finite supply.

Well if they're banned, they're offline now and still free to do what they like. The Switch still works and hell, even with the bans, patches can apparently still be downloaded.

Seeing both Switch Hacks subreddits and GBATemp there are more people willingly playing offline than you might think. Blocking the DNS is also no problem with Pi-Hole or OpenDNS if your router doesn't block it completely.
Also my post was more about them getting banned and just not caring cause they still can play offline.
But most pirates are idiots and will fuck it up yeah.

I'd hardly call it a leak, game is released in two days, I expect a lot of people already got it in their hands.
