I got it through Amazon! That first link going around here didn't work but the alternative link I saw on Wario64's twitter did. What feels extra good is I helped my brother too. He was disappointed that he couldn't get one but he got one through that link too (of course I made sure mine went through before I texted him).
Awful experience. Got my X at the MS Store (Canada). I got an error screen when I clicked Place Order so kept refreshing, but then I got an email 2 mins later that my order went through? I see it on my orders page too. Still refusing to believe it haha.
Got to the final screen at Walmart 3 times before it went 'Out of Stock' when I needed to click Place Order. Clicked 'Place Order' on EB Games and Best Buy each, but neither went through as far as I can see.

For anyone in Canada, both the S / X are still available on Best Buy. The checkout is working too, at least for me.

I got in through the smile link a minute or two after it was posted. Its a 'gift'.
I was finally able to order on MS. The trick was to be patient at every page and not continue to hit refresh.
Same thing they had come up for 3080s and PS5. Their site is just trash.
Best Buy sucks such immeasurable amounts of ass lol. Like, I get it, it's rough goings there's probably millions of humans and robots hammering that shit but it's so much worse than everywhere else lol.
Wow so I got 3 somehow. The Target one I wanted actually went through but I never got confirmation until I checked emails and I was surprised. I'll keep the Microsoft or Amazon one as backup. Might cancel or find out if anyone wants the third one.
I'm still having the Microsoft account order history show no order, even though I received a confirmation email from them. I was lucky enough, though, to snag one through Amazon. So if Microsoft falls through, hopefully my Amazon one sticks.
The last couple online launches have all been like this. Just about every system sells out initially online, hell even Strada did.
