lol I know, it's just that I'm absolutely swarmed with indie games I wanna play these next 2 months.
hopefully it's not super long, because I'll try to make it my next game after I finish the Touryst.
The one game I'm the most salty about missing. I even bought it back on og Xbox, but couldn't get into it due to the performance issues. I absolutely love oblivion and Skyrim and a Morrowind remaster would easily be one of my most anticipated games
LAD is awesome and i love the format/characters and story, so very happy the next instalment will remain the same, the txt thing i also was not a fan off but thats very JRPG so i get it, but hope theirs less of it next time :)
I'm disappointed in Jez here.
I feel like he was over-selling his source if the documentation he had merely "made it seem as if it was something they were considering." He definitely represented it as if it was they were actively exploring a sale (i.e., externally, not "internally considering").

combat is slick. i might return to Control on PC after finishing this up. Game Pass version was crashing on me a lot so I put it on ice. I also have it on EGS now since they gave it away, but I don't wanna redownload it or replay it to where I was just for stability hopes...

People really need to stop giving a select group so much attention and credit and let these things happen naturally. Acquisitions are notoriously difficult to track, especially now. No one is going to know.
Grubb and Schreier are the only guys I trust any more….I'm done. All noise to me….
I think the biggest thing to note about insiders is that even with the reliable ones, there's a scale about what's reliable and and what's not very certain from them. Like Jez, Grubb and Shpeshal Nick all appear on different podcasts often and talk about things they've heard whether or not they've been able to verify them, which is all fine and dandy especially for Nick since he's not really a journalist. Grubb and Jez though, I tend to not really take what they say on podcasts very seriously because I know and they have said before that if they were really confident about what they heard, they would actually report on it like how Grubb has written articles on Kojima and Xbox.
So Jez had access to some documents where WB Games was supposedly interested in selling TT Games and Nether Realm, potentially with Xbox as an interested buyer, but for one reason or another he didn't report on those documents, probably because of their age or because he couldn't confirm very much past that. Which is why I never really put much stock into it

You all take the Rumor stuff too seriously lol the fact that it's coming from Grubb an Co makes the rumors more credible, but at the end of the day, they are just rumors an it's fun knowing it's a possibility of happening. NOT that's it's guaranteed to happen.
The takes are reaching ridiculous levels again. First, Jez is not an "insider", he is a reporter doing his freaking job. Stop using this term, you are using it wrong.
Second, if he says he saw documents, then that's a fact, no matter what you, as an entitled gamer demanding binary information, think. He clearly never said this will result in anything, no one ever did, it's just the typical "let's jump to conclusions" syndrome that exists here every time. I saw the document as well, it's legit, but whether if it was old or whatever is something I don't know.
Third, and I don't know how many times this needs to be repeated, Xbox getting more studios is not an if situation - it's when. This is official information available to anyone. It's common sense. It's common knowledge.
Fourth, everyone in here, including the people criticising him now, happily took his info on Contraband, IOI and so much more. Some of the statements I'm seeing now here have a hollow ring as a result.

a reporters job is definitely not to spread rumors they haven't been able to confirm to any . and that's okay because they are not acting as reporters when they do that — it all comes from Twitter/discord/podcasts/etc. But I think People's failure to make this distinction is a big part of the problem
thats an epidemic on the internet in general. Countless threads in OT here are full of people arguing over the OPs summary and then you read the article and it's completely different
I don't really listen to Jez's stuff but, Grubb's show is just kind of shooting the breeze and quickly moves between confirmed info, rumors and speculation. It makes it really easy to listen to but as I am, I'm often thinking "I'm gonna see this misquoted somewhere." He must think the same as he constantly has to add "but I'm not reporting that"
Just finished Doom Eternal on gamepass. Enjoyed it very much.
This is also cool about gamepass. If a bought the game i probably would have tried some battlemode and some replay of missions. Just to get more out of my money technically. Even tho i felt i played enough. Not the case with gamepass. I finished it now. I enjoyed. Perfect amount of time spent on it also for me. I finished the game and i deleted it. And that feels good

Went back to FH4 for the first time in a looong while and while its of course very nice looking, I was shocked just how much better FH5 is shapping up to be. When the trailer and gameplay was shown at e3 of 5 I thought it looked damn fine, but not really a big step above what we already have in 4. Boy was that wrong! 4 looks comparatively simple in terms of lighting, amount of trackside detail, and just details in general.

It's annoying to come into this thread seeing the same old song and dance repeated ad nausea. Just gets tiring.
people need to recognize how hard it is to actually have the right connections to get any info when it comes to acquisition stuff.
Pair that with the fact that acquisitions take time and needless to say, I would take any acquisition talk with a healthy amount of skepticism. As others have said, it's a matter of when not if on acquisitions, so just chill, and go enjoy the some 30 games launching into gamepass day 1 between now and the end of the year lol.

I have a crazy amount of games I want to play this year. This month there's Deaths Door, The Ascent and Flight Sim. Next month Hades and Psychonauts 2. And ofcourse Forza and Halo.
Also playing stuff on PS5 and Switch.

August is so fuckin insane between Psychonauts 2, Hades, Recompile, and 12 minutes.........
Absolutely! I loved Bards Tale IV. When the combat clicks everything falls into place. There's a bit of a learning curve to it, but I like how strategic it is. And yeah, the soundtrack is god tier. Allow me to post this yet again.
I just beat Dishonored through Game Pass. I played the intro and the first level years ago on the 360 (back when it was given away for free) but then I just never actually got around to playing through the rest of the game. Anyway, I fixed that now and holy shit what an amazing game. I'm installing Dishonored 2 to my computer now, really excited to play that one too.
Whereas with games (even partnerships with third party studios) there are a whole swath of developers who will know about said partnership as well the fact that for a larger partner (like Kojima) people naturally talk and stuff comes out.

Yeah, that's something that's true as well. Acquisitions are entirely different league of information because the talks happen constantly and all the time (not that anything comes from it, mind you) and because the only people who really know about acquisitions happening are higher level executives, the legal teams and some of the accounting/auditing division. These people that know often aren't the type to leak out such information (especially from MS or any other publicly traded company) and so it makes having the scoop unlikely. That being said though, I honestly think that at least one of Grubb's Xbox sources is an exec or someone pretty high up there but I digress.

Starting to get a bit burned out on long games. Hoping for some quick paced games coming to Game Pass in the near future. I probably won't play Cris Tales right away as a result. Currently trying to wrap up Code Vein, Yakuza LAD (that I've been on/off with), Yakuza 4R, and Bug Fables in the next month or two...
No, but you can at least predownload the game through the app so it is installed and ready to go when you buy it at home.

yeah, like i said on the show, the doc could be old, but it also lists playdemic as being in scope for sale, and ea bought playdemic, which for me raised the possibilities of the other studios being up for sale too.
i never said ms was buying netherrealm. i never said ms was buying TT. all i said was i had documentation that suggests to me that at some point wb games was looking to offload netherrealm and tt, as well as tt odyssey and playdemic mobile studios, neither of which i had even heard of prior to getting this documentation.
the inability to verify the age of the doc is why i didn't report it on windows central, where im quite proud of my track record for pre-release accurate information, since it's what we're known for there. podcasts are for discussing random rumors, snippets of info, possibilities, and speculation, etc. for fun.
i know a lot of people here hate me, i see it in my DMs a-plenty. but i wanted to defend myself on this one, since klobrille so kindly stepped up to do so. thanks.
