Between Bridgerton, Soul, and Wonder Woman 1984 it's gonna be a busy Christmas day in my household.

WB has no choice to do this other than delaying the movie yet again. They tried as hard as they could to avoid this.

Unlikely. Black Widow is set for next summer. Disney is definitely hoping it will be the "return to theaters" film.
awesome HBO max continues to be a superior platform. Also I'd honestly pay for this if it allowed 4K HDR and a decent price ($25 but no more than $30 usd)

That's wild if true. Genuinely didn't think a guaranteed moneymaker like WW would move to streaming, especially day and date. They must be leaving a hell of a lot of money on the table but I'm glad not to have to wait another 6 months for it at least.
I actually think they will now. Between Mulan and Soul, they're clearly testing those waters. I can see them going through with it with Widow now. Though depending on how vaccination goes in the spring maybe they won't feel as much pressure to do so.
Is there a timeline for vaccines for them to be released by then? Studios may be trying to strong arm it but Tenet showed that it ain't happening.
They are already showing Soul on Disney+ on the same day. These are alright to give these new services a boost around the holidays, but I'm not sure if this is can really be a sustained long term thing.
But may gain so much more with HBOmax...I hope it pays off for WB.

If it kickstarts interest in HBO Max and they can hold on to customers then it could actually be a win of sorts for them. They're going to lose money, but it'll increase the subscriber count.
Not the same situation though. Soul is not meant to bring in cash like Black Widow and Soul released in the middle of the pandemic.
