What's the best video game that's never been remade or ported in any form?

Max Payne 2 and 3.
Max Payne 1 is on PSN for PS4 (I've not played it, but I assume it's HD?) but 2 and 3 have never got the same treatment. I believe 1 and 2 are Backwards compatible on Xbox One, but 3 is left out of the cold. Rockstar/Take 2 love money, so I'm surprised they haven't done anything with them.

Yes!!!! That one is a big game!!! It never came to USA I think.

Reason being, if you have a Demon's Souls itch, you can kind of scratch it playing the Dark Souls games or Bloodborne. If you have a KI:U itch, you can play the original or be screwed. And my 3DS died long ago. :(

Correct. JP and EU exclusive, never been ported, remade, remastered, re-released, or anything'd. And it's a crime. Square Enix, you own this. Do something with it. Quintet Quintology Collection à la Mana Collection for all platforms please (ActRaiser x Soulblazer x Illusion of Gaia x Terranigma x Robotrek). It pitches itself.
Problem is they would need to remake the rest of the games as well because I will not accept any substitutes or shortcuts with this one.
Star Control 2 had the rare distinction of being remastered in the very system that birthed it. Already having a high-res, open source version that runs on modern PCs, I don't know what more we could ask for, short of a Switch port (which is probably impossible for legal reasons).

This is the answer. System defining 32bit era JRPG that nobody bought and routinely sells for hundreds of dollars on the second hand market. It's crying out for more people to play it.
You can play this on every generation of Xbox.
It got ported to PS2.
Thought of these last week actually. Only owned 2 but it was a fantastic game.
The original defintely had ports, but I don't think the sequel did.

If I had to pick only one game, Jet Set Radio Future would be it. An absolute masterpiece and an improvement over the original in every way.

correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe it's been re-released. Would LOVE a proper remake of this game. Definitely played it more than any game on my GBC, pokemon included probably

God Myth was so cool. Really sad it kind of died out after 2.Myth 1&2
The Shadowruns for SNES and Genesis were two of my favorite games from the 16-bit era and they'll never see the light of day ever again.
