I just got promoted to be the Warren fan club bouncer, so I just wanted to say that every candidate better endorse Forma when they drop out if they know what's good for 'em.

WaPo has a piece on Harris healthcare walk back. And that pretty much every candidate other than Sanders is hedging or walking back on eliminating all private insurance.

It's still weird to me that so much of the contention in the healthcare debate is on whether to eliminate private insurance, when all other peet countries that have a universal provision of healthcare still have a role for private insurance.

The fallout of signing on to poorly thought out impractical messaging bills... Especially when the author doesn't actually think it's a messaging bill lol.

Why am I not surprised the thread about Trump being antisemitic is now about how it's the dem's fault.

It's just exhausting at this point.

This may come as a shock to you, but people can hate his antisemitic remarks, and dislike how democrats treat him on the subject, vs how they treated their own.

People can dislike multiple things at once.

Trump probably doesn't realize that the Jewish vote is so lopsided for Democrats too.

I wouldn't be surprised if learning about that statistic is what prompted the comment.

When Bernie has taken problematic *votes* on things like the crime bill or gun control, well that's all easily explained away for X,Y,Z reasons. He's from a rural state, he just had to do it! But Warren was a registered Republican decades ago? Long before she even had any kind of political influence, let alone actual legislative power? Well obviously she's just not a true blue progressive. Doesn't matter that her entire political career has been defined as being one of the most progressive in the country; doesn't matter that she is single-handedly responsible for the CFPB; doesn't matter that she has set the gold standard for progressive policy rollouts on this campaign. She voted for Gerald Ford back in '76, so clearly we know where her heart has been this whole time.

This whole thing is just so transparent that I think I'm most irritated by how obvious it is.
Sure thing man, the only reason anyone could prefer Sanders to Warren is misogyny. No other reason.

CentristEra fucking rules lmao.

Lol I don't even see an accusation of misogyny or calling out of voting preference, as opposed to just general hypocrisy on whose record is allowed to be scrutinized.

???

I didn't say a single word about misogyny. Or was even implying it!

But defending Elizabeth Warren's progressive bona fides = centrism. Ok. You really couldn't have proved my point any better.

Noted centrist politician Elizabeth Warren.
I like Warren more than anyone but Bernie and mostly wouldn't have a problem voting for her, but yeah the centrist argument being made there is dogshit lol. Which is that it's misogyny why socialists would prefer an actual socialist to someone who was a conservative deep into their adult life, and has been inconsistent on many major positions in that regard.

Centrist has no meaning. Everyone I hate is a centrist! Everyone I love is a progressive icon! Dogs are cats! Up is down!

The guy who voted against the Brady Bill isn't the centrist, it's Elizabeth Warren who is the real centrist. Because that term is just chock full of meaning and not at all an empty label used to disingenuously box people in.
Pal, if you knew the legit Marxist position on gun control you would shit your pants.

Spoilers: that's not what makes somebody a centrist

Democrats over performed in 2 specials tonight by about 8 points each. One is really interesting because the base of Dem support is two universities where classes haven't started yet.

again, you're the one who jumped straight to misogyny. I was merely pointing out that Warren's entire political career has been progressive to the bone. There is nothing centrist about saying that. Calling that a "centrist argument" doesn't even make any sense...that's not how you use that word!

At a fundraising luncheon this week in Jackson, Wyo., headlined by both Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney acknowledged the risks to the GOP elite behind closed doors. If the U.S. were to face a recession, it would be "moderate and short," Mulvaney told roughly 50 donors, according to an attendee.

These swampass dwelling motherfuckers know its coming.

"Moderate and short."

I hate them all and they all need to be in chains.

"Then people started yelling, 'Senator Warren!' People were clapping and running up to me to take photos. I kept saying 'I'm not her!' but I looked up and hundreds of people were staring at me."

"It got weird very fast.

The centrists, they're multiplying.

What were the races? I'm assuming by your phrasing that despite over-performing, the Democratic candidate din't win either seat?

I wonder how they're all getting caught at once like this. Getting turned in by friends who realize they really do mean it? Or are they just getting sloppy with making public threats because they feel inspired?

In this case, it was just dumb fucking luck;

But on the morning of July 24, Mr. Rubino was driving his white Chevy van on Route 517 in Allamuchy, N.J., when he lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a tree, seriously injuring himself and a passenger.

When officers from the New Jersey State Police began extracting Mr. Rubino from the wreckage, they noticed something unsettling in the van: a stockpile of assault weapons and ammunition. In a subsequent search of Mr. Rubino's home, the police said they found more than a dozen other weapons, drugs and a box of neo-Nazi paraphernalia.

In addition to the large collection of weapons found at his home, law enforcement officers discovered three kilograms of marijuana, 70 grams of methamphetamine and boxes of bumper stickers and clothing with S.S. Bolts — "Common white supremacist and Nazi symbols," prosecutors said.
Officers also found a document labeled with a racial epithet "containing racist material and purporting to be an instruction manual for owning a slave," prosecutors said.

Why Mr. Rubino kept such a large arsenal — a collection the police say included semiautomatic handguns, shotguns, rifles with scopes and a grenade launcher — remains unclear. But the arrest comes as the nation is already on edge after a spate of recent mass shootings, at least one of which was inspired by racist hatred, and the arrests in the past week of three men who the authorities said were planning attacks.

I would genuinely like to know what business anyone has with a fucking grenade launcher.

Yeah, sorry, should've been more specific:

PA HD-85 has two medium sized universities in it (Bucknell and Susquehana) that aren't in session and you have to be registered 30 days before the election to vote in PA, so effectively the biggest places of Dem support in the district didn't vote, which makes the result even better (district was also 3 points to the left of Obama's 12 result there)

I haven't bought an album that was a new release since Blackstar. Spent most of the summer filling out my 80's playlist though. What's that make me?

My thoughts on Susan Sarandon that you all were having a few pages back that I'm happy to bring back up because it's so stupid is that #NeverWithHer weirdos focus on her way too much and she probably didn't change anyone's vote, but she obviously didn't understand the stakes and decided to dig in instead of saying "whoops".
