My take away from all of this is kinda on the same wavelength as
TheLostBigBoss. I personally don't think they necessarily support/embody the ideals of 8chan in an overt, conscious sense. And I only say that because the various identities that make up megacorps, the numerous chefs in the kitchen, and the fallacy in trying to unify them all under a common morality and socio-political alignment. Especially when capitalism is involved, when money is a deciding factor in so much decision making. Or in short, I don't think they have the authenticity in caring for the subject matter 8chan obsesses over, or militantly apply themselves to their (im)moral code.
But I do think they were full aware of the 8chan audience, and that this is a blatant dog whistle to that demographic in order to cultivate the identity of being a Rebel Gamer, selling them the image of a outlier publishing company that doesn't-play-by-the-rules and is the enemy of censorship and Big Evil Corp 101. Scooping up all these studios and franchises, many of which dead at the hands of publishers unsatisfied with profit margins, ties into all of this. It sounds like they're peddling this narrative of being the underdog, the Savior of Gaming, etc etc.
And unfortunately by interweaving all of this into 8chan the baggage that comes with is not a good look in the community at large. They've taken the niche gamer rebel angle only ended up neck deep in the sewage of GamerGate, racism, MAGA, MRA, and paedophilia.
