DA: I was so damn great. I can't wrap my head around how Bioware went from that gem, to Andromeda and Anthem

I think it's because Inquisition was made with obvious passion by a team that had to deal with a lot of technical issues but were actually excited to continue the franchise along.

Andromeda and Anthem felt like obligations that Bioware got roped into without actually having any strong direction for them.

I'm not sure why you would make that assumption when Dragon Age has had a lot of instances so far of characters in earlier games reappearing in later ones.

The fact that Hawke is a main character and his quest in DA3 ends in a divergence choice i just don't see him come back sadly, other then a mentioned. Same as the heroe from DA1 who's been absent ever since.

I think there should be more peasant rebellions. I don't remember how many peasant rebellions there have been in the series so far, but not many that you experience in real-time from what I recall (Awakening based on what I saw on google, I forgot about that). The conditions for peasant rebellions are there.

Sadly i bet they won't, they will just dust all that under the rug. Or have a small mentioned.
Eh, who knows. I honestly did not expect Loghain to show up in DAI as is.

Or Drunkard Alistair in DA2 for that matter.

Same as the hero from DA1 who's been absent ever since.

They however I'm certain are never coming back. BW wanted them gone since the fucking expansion pack to Origins.

Yeah but like... Alister and Leliana both could die in DA:O and then appeared later. I think the fact that they reoccur in DA2 and Inquisition (with Leliana being in a huge role in the later) proves that it's certainly not unlikely they'll show up in 4.

Let's hope so then... i would like very much to see Hawke with Isabella back in DA4.

Yeah he never coming back, they even undoing some of the choices from DA1 related to him.

It's a real shame. I know there are folks who lump Inquisition with those two games but I'd like to think that even many of those who didn't have a good time with the game can at least recognize it's relatively solid in a lot of key ways.

DA4 is my dream game. Whether or not it delivers, it continues to be one of those things that keeps me up at night, pondering.

It is daunting when you think about all the permutations of choices in the past games and trying to do service to the world states.

I mean, there are people, not very nice people IMO, presumably with Branka still alive.

Damn all this DA talk is getting me hyped, i almost opened DAKeep website to check my choices lol

YES. I love Isabela so much. Her being in the multiplayer (with complete banter and interjections) was fun but I neeeeed her back for 4.

Oh she in the multiplayer? i never touched that.
Isabella my main romance in DA2, if Hawke comes back without her i riot... i was not amused with only a mentioned for her in DA:I.

DAI's look and general art design is just so striking and unique compared to Origins, and just plain better than DA2's. It took three games, but they finally managed to give Dragon Age a great visual identity.

Wait...

Did you...

Did you let the Chargers die?

I know I did and I have no regrets. They knew their job and they did it. I was also a Qunari Inquisitor and I wasn't gonna go against higher commands.

No hard feelings, bas.

I guess? Lmao was that an end game choice 😂

Nah it's not a """"major"""" choice (it is the main choice in Iron Bull's questline/storyline though) and it's easy to rationalize letting them die. Sometimes the job's the job and sometimes the job is to defend a point and die for it.

Tbf, having played the DLC long *long* after the fact, I did a double take and had to look up why it happened, too. But I still woulda let them die.

I don't know why I did it but I really liked Iron Bull & I'm a Qunari as well :/ I wish I could go back and see what I was thinking :P

Looking up the context (the choice in question), I remembered exactly why I made the choice I did. It makes perfect sense why what happens happens afterwards, too. It was nothing personal. Bas.

Well, it's over I guess. Kind of a lame ending even though I know it's DLC.
i thought I'd get to fight Solas I guess :/ all I did was cut my arm off & disband the Inquisition lmao. I had fun though, I'm putting DA: Inquisition down for some time again.
May the maker keep you. Thanks everyone for enjoying this with me.

It's a big hella teaser DLC which is why I make the Witch Hunt comparison (Origin's DLC). The premise is even the same.

Imagine not romancing Iron Bull or making the correct choices during his quest line.

The wait for at least any substantial news about DA4 is painful. Maker I need this game to be good.

Haven't been reading the spoilers because I haven't played the DLC myself yet. Haven't even finished the main game despite trying so many times. But seeing your enthusiasm in this thread and everyone else's passion for the series has inspired me to give it another go :)

Playing a female Elf, and I'll romance Solas, since that seems like it will have the biggest emotional payoff going into DA4. Plus, I've loved the British female voice actress (Alix) since seeing this vid she did for Inquisition =P

And now like I recognize Gideon Emery's voice everywhere after he played Balthier (he played Fenris in DA2 as well!) I hear Alix in so many different games too and instantly pick her out! She did a great job in DAI.

Krem and Bull are dead, they can't be disappointed.

I also largely don't want to engage with romance/dating in games right now and it's a bit of a bummer they usually end up feeling semi necessary to see so much extra of certain characters. But it's good for the people that want that actually fleshed out and fulfilling so oh well for me.

You didn't just disappoint me Lunchbox, you disappointed
Krem and the Iron Bull as well
😞
I couldn't even process how bad to feel because all those decisions were made by my past self, I didn't even remember Krem until Delphine mentioned her name and I just did it so unceremoniously
he didn't even have a unique drop HA

I'm going back to Origins tomorrow night, I was in the middle of an elf play through and I don't want my DA journey to stop just yet.

I do wanna say though the ending really did redeem Solas in my eyes I saw him differently he acted a lot calmer & respectfully in the final scene and to find out about more about him made it all worth it. I got to say I think I enjoyed Descent the best.. moment to moment it was great I was expecting Trespasser to be more open & deal with Solas more but talking to everyone after two years was really cool, and the epilogue scenes were nice. I'll miss all these characters a great deal.

Ya coming to trespasser long after the fact is some weird whiplash of trying to remember everything that happened because a lot of party members start mentioning a lot of specific things that happened and it sure was a trip trying to put it all back together in my head. Seems like you had a similar experience (and I think it's probably more common than people think). I played Trespasser last year (along with the rest of the DLCs) but I played Inquisition at launch so it's a loooong time for things to just fade from memory.

I had no idea Cole had a girlfriend :P and Sera seemed to get pushed to the side a little, I forgot I made Cassandra divine & what that really means in the lore and the Iron Bull situation, I remembered everything about Varric & Dorian tho

I know in my playthrough I actually entirely missed Dorian because I think I didn't talk to him enough to recruit him or something since I picked the route that gets you Cole automatically (and so Dorian has be to manually talked to in the Keep iirc).

Krem is a man, so he.

It's been nice to hear how much you've been enjoying Dragon Age, tempted to do another playthrough of the series myself. Just with the rumours of a Mass Effect remaster, I'd really love a DAO and DA2 remaster as compared to DAI the style just looks a bit muddy. DAI feels more were they fully implemented their own look while DAO especially seems to go more into standard fantasy stuff.

I'll definitely be playing again to get some of these trial trophies! I just noticed these in the options.. I'm either going female dwarf or elf for my next run and gonna make it right with a certain man.

I'm in deep in a bunch of game pass games since I want to make the most out of this month I got for it but this thread absolutely has made me want to continue that second playthrough I started. I'll def be trying and seeing other choices (made a Lady Elf for obvious reasons as I stated earlier in the thread) but I am usually set on doing my initial choices since those are *usually* most true to what I want out of a world state for future games (Sorry, Bull).

If what I did was canon I don't wanna play DA4 😆
if I load up a save & take him with me does he still betray me based on my choices?

I know in Origins (spoilering just in case)

I kept the fact I had to abandon Alistair (I believe he just genuinely runs away) to give Loghain a second chance since I failed to persuade him to stay. I really like Alistair and that choice was a really fucking tough decision to make but I stuck to it and kept that world state as my "canon" world state even though I know there are ways to keep him around. It's what was most true to me and what I felt resonated the most. Still hurt to see him drunk and failing in that bar in Dragon Age 2.

Just ordered Tevinter Nights. I am ready for all the foreshadowing.

Do we have a Dragon Age thread on Hangouts? Couldn't find it, would be nice to have one place to discuss the series in general.
