Idk I was talking to a co-worker that brings her daughter to pax East every year for the gear box stuff and it reminded me that people really don't care about that shit. Sure here people do but that's because of what this forum is suppose to represent.

If you don't care about his drama you got a guy who is really enthusiastic about his studio/game and dev team. Also really cheesy magic tricks.

Edit: is the childporn confirmed? I'm guessing not because he would have been investigated by now and or arrested?

He should, but he won't.

If his involvement with the actual game is the same as much as Borderlands 2 (which from my understanding he had no hand in directing, writing or producing), I can at least take some solace in that.

Why?

Just because he's a lying, embezzling, possible pedophile piece of shit filthy magician slime bag?

I don't think there's anything gained by him being the face of the game, but who is going to tell him no? And as others said it's not like the very vast majority who will buy BL3 will care either way. But the less awkward Randy segments I see the better.

He is the sole reason I won't be buying. He has too much baggage.

The very fact that he teamed up with G2A after we all know that that site is shady at best, tells a lot.

He should, without a doubt. One of the reasons I lost interest in the franchise was because of how garbage he is. During BL1-BL2 I had no idea who Randy was, now I don't wan't to get near his products.

This. Doesn't need explanation.

I personally think he needs to stay away, he will not sadly.

Dude should distance himself from game development, period. So many fucked up allegations and red flags.

In the grand scheme Im not sure it matters. He's at the forefront because it's his company and his game and he wants to be, and his presence doesn't do enough to dissuade the majority of consumers that make up Borderlands 3's target market so there's no one to tell him otherwise.

Yikes. The USB thing is an omega level accusation to be throwing around without additional information.

I mean he himself admitted that the USB contained "barely legal" porn. The day he knew the accusations were coming. It's not hard to imagine that being damage control for something worse.

"We should've brought our own equipment...No, no, it's just this 4K footage is hard to handle."

- Randy Pitchford on why there was so much lag today.

Holy shit.

When I made this thread I didn't even know about him owning child pornography. WTF dude. *updates OP*
The claim didn't state he had child pornography it said "underage" and the underage was indeed in quotations. It was what is called barely legal porn (according to Pitchford). So if you are going to include it in the op, you should probably also word it as "underage" pornography rather than child pornography since that was the claim.

Edit: Here's the document where you can see how it was worded.

I mean it's his company. I feel like people should probably distance themselves from him and go find a better person to work for, but I dont think he really needs to distance himself from his project.

He should. But I tell you what. People don't give a fuck. Randy Pitchford don't gives a fuck. This whole show today wasn't about some games. It was about Randy Pitchford. People love Randy Pitchford. Sucks. But that's how it is.

Is this so people with reservations supporting a game made by someone they dont like can feel better about buying it? Even if he does distance himself, hes still a part of the game.

Unless something else comes up, I don't see why he should. Yes it was stupid of him to put 18 year old porn on a company USB, and even stupider leaving it somewhere public, but is that illegal now? Or is watching 18 year old women porn immoral?

Alot of people in this thread are acting like he factually had child porn on him.

I mean, he's not wrong.

If the hardware being used is even only a couple of years old, it lacks some of the improvements that have been added to properly handle 4K decoding. Even my 6700K and 1080Ti can struggle with 4K on some local files.

It also depends a lot on how much compression there is, if the drives are fast enough to read that data from, what media player is being used and even if those media players have certain settings configured properly.

What the hell are you talking about? Underage porn IS child porn. "Barely legal" is 18 year olds, so not underage.

Also the wording of "Upon information and belief..." is legalese for "I heard from someone that..."

It's literally hearsay being thrown into the suit because you're protected from libel accusations in such a brief, and the hope is that you'll make the person you're suing look like a bad person, even though you won't be called on to prove any of the claims there. By all firsthand accounts (including Randy's) the porn was an 18 year old camgirl. It's creepy, and it's super weird that it was on the same drive as confidential business-related documents, but throwing "pedo" around is pretty stupid here.

I'm talking about how "underage" isn't the same as underage. You know with quotations as you can see in the claim, I linked it exactly so there wouldn't be confusion. Underage is a child, but "underage" isn't the same as underage.

He's a cringy douchebag and it's hilarious that he lost a USB drive full of porn AND sensitive business information at a Medieval Times. Like, why would you keep that stuff together? I wish he would quit and I think he should distance himself from everything in public.

But I'm not about to automatically believe his computer is full of child porn based on the statement of a guy he's in a legal battle with.

Most people don't know who he is, and if the game's good enough most people who do wont care.
