What even is the point of this series anymore?

The point is the last two films did over a $1 billion each.

Yeah, JW and JP3 are basically on the same tier of dumb. I think JP3 had a bit more character, whereas JW was obviously a committee-designed "let's open this franchise back up" project, but both are perfectly fine as popcorn entertainment.

Admittedly, I haven't seen Fallen Kingdom (not gonna pay money, I'll wait until it's on streaming somewhere), but everything I've read about it makes it sound insultingly dumb instead.
The dumbest part of JW is the fact that it only took 10 years for people to get bored of dinosaurs.

This will be the first time in history where the first film in a franchise was also the making-of of the third.

They keep adding dumb shit for every film and the films keep getting worse. It's almost like those things are related.

The plot points regarding JPs relevance and retaining an overstimulated audience from the first film aged so badly, especially after the sequel. If you're gonna put something like that in your film, you better make that shit a classic.

I know, I know. The JW films are big hits.

I remember reading about this beastie as a kid. Hopefully this is a good sign for the movie.

Call my cynical, but I found that part depressingly realistic.
No way, people still go to zoos, aquariums, theme parks, all the time. If people aren't tired of seeing animals like lions, elephants and dolphins than its going to take a long time before people get their fill of dinosaurs.

Also it would take years before ticket prices even get low enough for the average family to afford. Only the very wealthy would be able to go in the first decade of opening.

I will simply be beside myself if the Dilophosaurus gets the shaft again.

One day we will get a full sized one in one of these movies...one day.

Being a fan of Spinosaurus is even worse, because all you hear about is that the Spino should come back and die horribly to a Rex as some act of revenge from over a decade ago.

Spinosaurus is such a cool monster and used in the right water environment would be absolutely terrifying, they just need to do that instead of the mutated serial killer asshole from JP3.

i legit hate the world series

the last movie with the dinosaurs running around a mansion made me soooo stupidly angry. my date loved it, we saw it in the theatre. awkward night.

Pretty much every Jurassic Park movie except the first one has been "meh" to "awful". Jurassic World was "meh'". Jurassic Park 2 was "meh". Jurassic World 2 was awful.

man, I liked fallen kingdom as a "holy shit this is stupid" movie while I was bored by jurassic world

the Indorapter loved what he was doing and I was all for his goofy shenanigans

I honestly thought the directing was really solid and I want to see what Boyana could do with a decent script

Also Biosyn has something to do with something in this one, I think? Sans the guy from the first movie who turned out to be a pedo...

I've been waiting 20 years for this.

Giant southern lizard, as it was discovered in Argentina.
Yep, I'm honestly confused why their getting so much hate and mockery, it's always nice when Southern Hemisphere/Gondwana are even acknowledged in fiction at all as their often ignored and in this case, they were the biggest known theropod of the South. While personally I would have loved to see more Abelisauridaes or at least a more accurate Carnotaurus that emphasised it's real world speed and a long distance running, it's a fine Dinosaur.

Then again I want for once accurate Pterosaurs in fiction at least once but I doubt I'll ever get that.

Raises hand as Spinosaurus and Spinosauridae in general being their favourite Dinosaurs, though it does surprise me that Baryonyx gets a lot more respect, not a bad thing just surprising.

Having only ever seen JP and JW, I have to say I felt like in JP whoever made the movie at least liked dinosaurs (despite numerous inaccuracies) but in JW they're treated as any ol' fantasy monsters which is a shame.

Hey guys, remember the throwaway character Dodgeson that gained some fame due to memes on the internet? He's the guy from the movie you like and now he's in this movie too in a big way, so you have to like it.

Seriously, this has to be peak nostalgia porn. I know he has a bigger role in the books but come on. They literally make fun of his character for being a nobody in the first film.

Personally would have gone for something like Acrocanthosaurus for a theropod with a more distinctive look, but I guess it doesn't have "bigger than T-Rex fame"

Not that they've given much shit about accurate sizes in this franchise lol
