Cross-gen is probably holding it back, in some respects it doesn't look like a big jump over VII. Though in some ways it looking visually homogenous with VII may be intentional.

They are waitng for PSVR2 likely. You cannot run native PS5 games in VR currently.
With Sony having exclusive demo, content etc., I'm sure that extends to VR as well just as with RE7.
The game barely looks better than RE7 I don't think there's much to worry about

Got it -- thank you for clarifying. Depending on the price and content (I do want the Deluxe Edition content) I think I'll buy this bundle on my Xbox as I don't own RE7 on Xbox. It is, in fact, the only RE game on Xbox One/Series X that I don't own that's available for Xbox.
Found it. You have to go to the page for Village and change the option to the demo.
Also it's same engine and the game is announce for ps4.... will wait for later... i hope.

lol combat is like the worst part of nearly all the RE games, and the combat focused games were awful
The same people that made that decision for RE7 Beginning Hour and that was pretty successful. People were talking about it for awhile and it had some pretty interesting hidden stuff.
There will be a full demo with combat in spring on all platforms
They did the same with the first demo for RE7 and was meant to be more an exploration type of experience. Don't see what's wrong with it. We're able to get a feel for the atmosphere and visuals
I'm pretty disappointed they haven't gone the route of hitman 3 so they can still support PSVR again (give the PS4 version with the PS5 version so you can still play VR) because NOTHING comes close to RE7 in terms of horror games
It looks interesting though. Kind of feels like a mish mash of various elements from various games in the series. The sisters remind me a lot of the hook ghost from RE3.5 in the way they move and shift in and out when being shot. the gunplay and inventory of RE4. puzzles from the original games...it could be excellent...I just wish it still had VR.

That's a good point. I suppose we won't really see these new games flex just all of what the consoles can really allow until mid to late gen, just like every generation.

All in all a very short delay considering how much Corona screws games to be released this year.
It looks way better once you're outside of the prison cell area. But definitely a cross-gen game.
