The only other new entry to make the Top 40 is 'Saints Row: The Third – The Full Package' debuting at No15.

I wonder how long RDR2 will be in the charts. It won't beat GTAV but damn, this game has insane legs, wom seems to be very good.

And the trend continues this year for xbox one retail sales in the UK fading away vs the other two. Just 7 or 8 titles in the top 40 becoming the norm, earlier we were looking more at 10+, and with this all year there's hardly been any titles in the top 10 other than those that are bundled.

Aren't GTA Vs continuous sales due to the included Shark cards thus making it more cost effective to buy the game + currency than just the currency? If so I would expect RDR2 to do the same if the business model is the same when the multiplayer launches proper.

Yeah but the multiplayer didn't even launch proper for RDR2, right? I mean being a multiplatform game surely helps but the game is selling constantly like GTAV and I wonder what its lifetime sales will be. It seems to be a game that can be one of the most influential games on either platform when we relate influence by sales.

Proof?

I dunno, I'm thinking Xbox is becoming a mostly digital console TBH. Also Playstation will trend this way, but could be a good deal behind. Physical could remain strongest on switch due to mainstream user base and lack of default storage.

The main thing I look at is Ubisoft fiscals platform share each quarter, and Xbox is doing fine there. 18% vs 31% for PS4 last quarter which is the high volume holiday quarter (this is worldwide and inclusive of digital obviously). Ubi results should come again soon.

UK charts still no digital, correct?

PS4 has RDR bundles. There are also more PS4's than Xbox 1's. What's weird?
1 is 5th the other 28th, such a massive difference between a mega game is a bit weird. Look at FIFA (13 spots between) or GTA (8) where it's around 10 spots between both. FIFA is PS4 bundled too, so it's a possible factor, but not a guarantee for such a big gap.

I think you underestimate how much work that Pro RDR2 bundle is still doing.

I don't know why they used the rage ip instead of a new IP. Rage wasn't a seller back then right?

I reckon Rage 2 will sell 20 - 25k units on launch week in the UK. I would have guessed a bit higher but reviews are coming in slightly more lukewarm than I expected, plus Bethesda's marketing is normally pretty bad outside of BGS games.

Damn the software sales are in a dire state on Xbox One going by the individual formats chart.

7 titles in the top 40 and the highest charting ip is heavily bundled here in the UK. Last week in my local Smyths you could pick up a new XBOX game and get FH4 for £10

I find it ironic that you first ask for proof and then explain away the poor showing of XBOX by saying, according to your thought process, that XBOX is mostly digital. As a UK era member allow me to provide you with some UK retail context.

This is how they sell XBOX these days

XCkl36v.png

This isn't an outlier. I've seen UK XB1S deals with 7 games included at retail (and online) with each bundled game less that 6 months old. There isn't a larger digital share. The chart simply reflects the state of the UK market and here XBOX has been loosing mindshare since the loss of the COD and Fifa marketing deals. Those early access to content / timed exclusivity deals kept the console buoyant.

If you go back and look at the pal rankings since XBOX lost those marketing deals you'll be able to pin point and chart the downward trend.

Why did Switch hardware explode this week in Spain ?

Great to finally have an updated number for FIFA 19 on Switch. 77k makes it one of the best selling Switch games.

Switch (game consoles in general) is a popular gift at this time of the year. First communion is a religious party for 9-10 years old children.
El Corte Ingles is the biggest retailer in Spain and recommends Switch as gift (not PS4 or Xbox One)
ElPais is the newspaper with more readers in Spain, and also recommends Nintendo products (not PS4 or Xbox One)

Days Gone slaying across Europe. Plus I'd say it's a safe bet it will be part of Sony's Days (Gone) of Play where it'll receive a slight discount to boost sales somewhat.

Did we get a number for FIFA 18 on switch in Spain? 77k doesn't seem that great, I'd be curious to see the increase year on year.

That FIFA 19 Switch numbers is quite remarkable considering the game debuted at 8k on Switch. That's almost a tenfold increase over its first week performance. Anyone have numbers for how that stacks up to the XB1 version (which debuted at 14k) and the PS4 version (which debuted at 210k)?
