NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition Review - Must-Have for 4K Gamers

NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 3080 "Ampere" Founders Edition is a truly impressive graphics card. It not only looks fantastic, performance is also better than even the RTX 2080 Ti. In our RTX 3080 Founders Edition review, we're also taking a close look at the new cooler, which runs quietly without...

seems its not even worth upgrading from a 2080 ti

As a 2080 Ti owner, I already felt like that before the reviews. It's either the 3090, the 3080 Ti (presuming one launches next year) or waiting until the 40 series for us. The 3080 is for people with a 2080 or below, or still rocking a 1080 Ti. It looks to be a fantastic part for people that don't want to spend over $1000 on a graphics card. But it's not a Titan or a Ti.

Hyped for 4k 120 in less demanding games via hdmi 2.1, any extra performance over the 2080 ti is icing on the cake.

Steady 60 in Control too

honestly, the people that sold their 2080ti's for like $450 will probably feel pretty fucking bad now lmao

Reading through TechPowerUp's review, they say that overclocking is pretty limited on the 3080. Compared to their 2080 Ti FE review where they stated they got about 11% real world performance improvement from overclocking the 2080 Ti, by comparison for 3080 that was only 4%.

So it seems like a lot of the performance increase comes from increased power usage. Have any of you seen a review that compares 2080 Ti overclocked to the 3080?

Interesting. This is why I need to see benchmarks on other CPUs. 2080ti is often getting 20fps more in these benches compared to launch benches. And it's because it was bottlenecked on the old Intel CPU vs the newer one.

I wanna see just how much my Ryzen is going to bottleneck things before I even contemplate going 3080 over 3070. My Ryzen 2700 is probably going to even bottleneck the 3070.
