It's also just plain wrong at this point. As of the last couple days, COVID-19 is killing Americans at a higher rate than the typical population fatality rate from car crashes.
Yesterday had 111 COVID-19 deaths, multiply that by 364 and you get 40,404 per year. The modern US usually has fewer than 40,000 car fatalities per year.
So concerned about the economy that he doesn't consider the impact of:
1. Millions of people too sick to work.
2. A good percentage of those people on ICU but die anyway because there aren't ICU units available.
3. Millions of Americans dying overall having a chilling effect on the economy and ruining it anyway.
So in the end the economy is getting wrecked anyway. If we take the appropriate measures now we can at least spare millions of deaths on top of it. It's so crazy that he doesn't get this.
