Oh yeah, you're totally right. I guess I've seen it so much I've tuned it out, but I thought that it was panned up for the whole thing.
Well Senran Kagura's whole purpose is to provide T&A which is different than say Xenoblade 2 which is trying to tell a serious storyline but still has fan service designs.
Well, the Vita was the "pervy otaku" platform years back so I'm guessing they want to fight that image?

So is this new policy strictly for Japanese developers and content? Like, Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age: Inquisition had some pretty explicit sex scenes in them. Can we expect those to be cut or censored in the next Dragon Age? Or are these characters from Senran Kagura underage? Is that the common factor with all of the censoring that's been going on? Cause I definitely understand if that's the case. Otherwise, I'm completely against random censorship. If Sony wants to keep nudity off of their platform, fair enough. But they haven't been enforcing this policy with developers like Rockstar and Ubisoft.
It seems to me the consistency is anything depicting characters that either are underage or appear underage.
For example SCVI had no censoring and it has a ton of T&A. There though the characters that are portrayed sexually are clearly adults

People who would upset over cleavage aren't going to buy this theme anyway. Are themes aged rated? As long as someone below the age rating of the game can't see it, it should rightfully be available for those who want it.

Okay, that makes sense then. I've never played one of those games before. I haven't been following EVERY instance of Sony's censorship but I wonder if that's the thing that they all have in common.
And what's your point? Sexualization of underage girls is a crime, and there are people defending this.

More like the anime art style. Visual novels are still getting content change even with characters being of legal age, 18, with picture below being one example. A similar thing also happen with a college student.
It looks like most of the censorship hits any game that has young looking characters. Even if they are "18" or more, as long as they look young then there is a huge chance they are getting censored.
My point is that putting that asshole into the discussion is not the best decision.

The real reason that these are getting targeted and Soul Calbur isn't is because Soul Calibur is a well known and respected(?) series from a major Japanese publisher. It's a lot harder to bully them around than it is with a series like Senran Kagura.
Not that I don't think Senran Kagura's problematic stuff should be dealt with. The game is basically soft-core porn with a bunch of anime girls that are "technically" 18, but it doesn't seem fair that Sony gets to pick and choose.
How old are the girls in the OP? (I know nothing about these characters.)
I support cleaning up shit that is underage or cleary looks/is implied are underage (and by cleaning up I imply banning/refusing certification). If those are school uniforms then that is where there can be issues.

One is 17, and the other is 18. In general most of them are at average are 17 years old.
Anything under 18 being highly sexualized should be a no-go. Irrespective of the age of consent being 16 in many countries.
There's a gulf between something like Life is Strange depicting teenage relationships, and some of the stuff put out in visual novels and the likes.
